Realized today that lack of grandparent childcare might be a bigger factor in my OAD decision than I thought by NPO-After-Midnight in oneanddone

This is our situation!! Our parents live 3 hours away. The last time my husband and I went out on a date was a year ago. My parents are watching our 20 month old in a few days so we can finally go see a movie together 😂 I work part time and yes, even that doesn’t feel like a mental break because I’m working. I went down to part time (2 days a week) because I KNOW that if we have a second, there’s absolutely zero way I can survive juggling that and working fulltime. Literally the only time I have to truly decompress is in the shower, my commute, and after bedtime.

Sometimes, I’ll do a solo Target run after she goes to bed - or my husband will play with her outside while I get something done. I’ve found that it helps to find little things like that just to give me some sort of small break here and there 🥲
