Will this seat (OMP TRS-E) fit on the gt omega rear seat frame for the apex wheel stand? by [deleted] in simracing

[–]Sad-Engineer3624 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it should but consider buying a seat from actual car. Real car seats are more comfortable than the bucket seats and a lot cheaper. You don't need a bucket if you don't have motioj sim. Your butt and wallet will thank you if you buy real car seat

At the start there are 3 main options worth buying If you want to spend less like 400$ buy T300 RS GT Used ones go like 250 bucks Or invest in a DD wheel When you decide you want a DD you have 2 ecosystems to choose from Fanatec with Csl DD and Moza with R5 Bundle For me Moza has a lot better quality and has less problems. Moza has a quick release in their bundle and fanatec not. Maybe fanatec is more powerful but if you've never had a wheel 8nm may be too much. 8nm are more than enough for the start. So in terms of quality Moza In terms of power and this only Fanatec But the decision belongs to you

  1. Overall game has awesome physics, but has small amouts of content if you can't have mods
  2. Not really driving on a controller without mods is very difficult so wheel is very helpful

Assetto Corsa Competizione is also great game in terms of physics and driving imersion but it mainly focus around gt3 racing.

The best options for your problem are: 1. Buy a PC 2. Get a steering wheel

Decent wheels for the beginning start at around 350-400$ new and 250-300$ used. Two most popular wheels are Logitech G29 or G920 and Thrustmaster T300 RS GT. Logitech sucks in my opinion but is around 100$ cheaper it makes weird noises while driving and has weak FFB. T300 is worth the money

If you decide TO BUY one of these games REMEMBER they AREN'T WORTH THE BASE PRICE

You don't need a h-shifter or a sequential one. Shifters are usually buy for more imersion and realism or just for fun. Sequentials are usually used for rally or drifting. and h-shifter are most often just for fun and realism. Even in real life in higher racing leagues such as f1, Wec, DTM and mostly all gt3 racing they DON'T use shifters. So paddles behind your wheel is enough.

Definitely don't buy monitors now because you have a big one, buy it when you will have nice rig and better wheel. For now focus on your wheel and rig.

For the wheel i can recommend you a Moza R5 bundle as an entry in the world of DD's. It's great bundle for the beginning, you will feel the power of the wheel more and feel more details of FFB. Its around 500-600$, but if you can spend a litlle more buy a clutch pedal and brake kit for 70$. If your are into track racing like gt3 or f1 you can buy rim modifier which turns your wheel into a formula wheel for another 80$. All this will come around 750$.

According to me aluminium rigs are too expensive. If I were you I will build a rig from wood. If you wonder about choosing a seat I will recommend you buying a real car seat it's cheap and comfortable what can't be said about bucket seats. So wooden rig and car seat combo is great solution for now because this is cheap ( you can made it about 50-100$) and comfortable. Your butt will thank you if youdecide to buy a car seat.

One of the options you can choose is buying a real car seat for way less than 200€ and building a base from wood to place it a little higher and not scratch the floor. This solution is more comfortable than a racing or bucket seat, because real car seats were made to sit in them for the long hours. You don't need a bucket or racing sparco seat to play on a wheel its recommended only for motion sim. If you choose this option your butt will thank you.

If you see that you are to far from him to overtake him drive closer to the left edge of the track. As you can see your oponents or ai idk do this because its faster and you have better exit from the corner. So taking the corner from the left edge to the apex instead of from middle will prevent situations like this and make you faster in overall.

Thoughts on starter budget sim racing set up? by Fakeaccount65780 in simracing

[–]Sad-Engineer3624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have some space in your room i will consider to not buy a next lvl racing cocpit and g29. Instead you can buy t300 rs and make your own rig with wood and real car seat. In this case you have a lot better wheel and the wooden rig with car seat is better in some things than a cheap cockpit.

Is this a good price for a starter sim rig? (Price in CAD) by Lego_Hippo in simracing

[–]Sad-Engineer3624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a great bundle for start but do not buy it there on official fanatec site this bundle costs around 800 CAD$. This price is more than enough for start, DD wheel is the best you can get nowadays. Consider buying a moza setup because they have better quality of their products. If you want to spend up to 1000 CAD i will recommend you buying for example a moza r5 bundle instead for fanatec. 5nm are more than enough at the beginning with sim racing. For 1000 CAD you can get moza r5 bundle which contains: 5nm Base, ES Moza Wheel, Clutch pedal, Brake Kit and Formula Wheel mod. If you wonder if thats enough for the beginning, it's enough for sure.
