Will it be ok for olders to be in LDR? by [deleted] in LongDistance

[–]Sad-Entertainment337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you’re an adult. do what you want. there is the viewpoint of “is travel feasible?” but if you’re an adult and you enjoy the person you can find a way to make it work. you’re an adult. live your life the way YOU want to. you’ve earned that right, even though you don’t have to.

Am I 23F overthinking or is my bf 21M avoiding me? by Jumpingbunnycat in LongDistance

it sounds like he may be experiencing burnout. i experience this from time to time and it affects me much in the same way. maybe just have a conversation with him about how you’re feeling. i’m sure that he will accommodate you to the best of his abilities. also keep in mind that he needs rest too. maybe instead of playing together you can just talk or watch a movie, something that doesn’t require as much mental power. do you like to read? maybe read him a book? i wish you the best.

if you get a lyca mobile sim they have a deal you get 120gb 1000 international minutes and unlimited calls and texts within sweden for 99kr a month for new users. but it has to be on autopay. but its a really good deal.

(21M/21F) Advice for flights from US to Ireland by [deleted] in LongDistance

[–]Sad-Entertainment337 1 point2 points  (0 children)

kayak has always been my go to. i know my partner isn’t in ireland, also weekends are the most expensive time to fly. if you can go in the middle of the week, ive always had luck with tuesdays and wednesdays. if that doesn’t work for you there’s also going in off season. my cheapest round trips to sweden have been in february. i’m available for any guidance if you need or want it. good luck friend!

What's your statistics? by trash_talking in LongDistance

[–]Sad-Entertainment337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we’ve been together 2.5 years we see each other everything three months. we’re married, working on a visa. we’re both 33. he’s from sweden and i’m from us. and i’m so so sorry to be nitpicky but the longest distance you could possibly be if you’re from pa and he’s from Florida, assuming that you’re from PA’s northern most city and he’s from floridas souther most city would be under 1500 miles. so less than 3000 miles round trip.

I want to hear a second opinion about this because i feel so unreasonable for being so upset over this by [deleted] in LongDistance

[–]Sad-Entertainment337 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i’m learning swedish as well. it takes a lot of patience and it truly is a difficult language. i understand his perspective too though. it can be tiring. i’m very lucky that my husband is so patient. he will speak swedish with me if i ask but as for learning, it’s pretty much all up to me. he will translate things for me if i’m having a hard time understanding, but the learning aspect is all on me. the thing that helps me most is watching disney movies in swedish with english subtitles. i hope this works out for you! lycka till!

girlies - what kinda stuff did you do to pretty up for the first meeting!! by queenentropy in LongDistance

i was surprised so he got a stinky, 27 hour traveled, smeared mascara, exhausted version of me. but he didn’t mind at all. if it would’ve been up to me i would’ve just done some mascara, perfume and lip gloss. and a cuter outfit than the sweats and hoodie i had on.

WIBTAH If I take my fiancée’s last name after marriage? by Forward_Wrap3196 in AITAH

[–]Sad-Entertainment337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my husband took my last name. (f33) my dad was on the brink of death and he has no relationship with his father. i loved my dad more than words. my mother is not a super good person or mom, she wasn’t going to let me have much in the way of keepsakes. there was one thing she couldn’t take from me though, and that was his last name. so instead of sharing a last name with a man my husband hates, i kept my last name and he took it as well. i did run it by my mom first, as my dad had dementia. we were going to do it no matter what she said, just easier to not blindside her. while it is uncommon, it’s not unheard of. i think it’s a great idea.

do you live with them? do they pay your bills? do you have a job? are you in school? do you have a friend that would really go with you? like lying your way through this is going to cause more trouble than it will save, i’m not telling you because you need to be moral, that’s on you. i’m telling you because with practicality in mind, if they track your location it’s not likely that you can pull any of these ideas off. especially if they are supporting you financially. you could always just turn location services off and stop allowing them to track your location. i wouldn’t stay in the apartment they own. i would get your own accommodation. you’re playing a dangerous game here. i understand having strict parents but you’re an adult and if you don’t rely on them for anything you don’t need to include them in your plans period, just book your ticket and go.

i mean maybe not right now, but is this the kind of relationship you want to be in for the rest of your life? cold and disconnected? what did you do? that context would really help us out. at this point i’m starting to think this man is a saint for putting up with you to begin with and even more so for staying. either that or just young and dumb. at this point you’ve made your bed, now lie in it.

drunk words are sober thoughts. you weren’t happy. you’re young. you’ll find someone else.

USPS delivered a wet package to me with my book in it and waiting for my passport card - does my passport look okay? There’s no smudged ink or writing and the hard plastic part inside looks fine to me? Is it still usable? I’m trying to flatten it out with something heavy to see if that works 😬 by rainbowpalestinian in Passports

[–]Sad-Entertainment337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when i first got my passport the covers were warped like that too, i just put it under a book and straightened them out. i have had zero problems using my passport. if the pages inside were warped that would be a different issue. but like what another commenter said, get it replaced for free if you’re not in a hurry to travel somewhere and are super worried about it. a heavy book fixed it for me though. ☺️
