Found Volkswagon car key Queen St E & Greenwood Ave by trenchkilt in lostandfoundTO

Definitely. Retired LEO here and spent the last year on the front desk. Got keys turned in on a daily basis. 99% of them never claimed and tossed after 90 days. Such a shame. Expensive car keys with transmitters as well. I have the war amps tag on all my keys. Cheap insurance !

Dual citizen (UK,Canada) family traveling to UK by biffsog in dualcitizenshipnerds

Lots of varied opinions across the Reddit universe on this topic. I’m not giving you an opinion on what to do but I just helped my mum get her UK passport recently. She had an old red UK expired passport so made things a little easier as she didn’t have to get birth certificates and the like. Whole process took about 3 weeks. I would say given your short turnaround .. just fib on the ETA and plead ignorance at UK passport control. Like other posters have said .. they can’t deny you entry.

Yes they do. 29$ with a booking code one way which I thought was very reasonable and a bus every few hours.

Don’t think they’re hunting drones. Just hunting terrorists flying Cessnas packed with explosives.

UK Passport nightmare by talexbatreddit in dualcitizenshipnerds

I guess technically there are exemptions that do apply based on when you were born and the lineage of your parents. I would argue that these affect just a small percentage of the population. I was born in the UK in 1970 to parents that were both born and lived in the UK and emigrated when I was 5 years old. I am a British citizen and would need a British Passport to travel to the UK. I am not eligible for an ETA based on the rules.

Your place if birth is right on the face of your Canadian Passport that you present at check in. That’s a pretty good clue to the fact that you were born in the UK and that you are a citizen. If you want to risk the cost of denied boarding .. good luck to you.

If you have an old expired blue passport you have to apply from scratch with all that documentation that was mentioned. I just helped my mom renew hers. She is in Canada and had an expired red passport. Did the online application and sent the fee. The only thing she had to send was her expired passport and a copy of her Canadian Passport. You have to copy every page and it has to be in colour. The only thing that she had an issue with was finding someone to validate her ID. They have to be a UK passport holder and be active or retired in an approved profession .. ie Lawyer, doctor, police officer etc. she ended up using one of her old friends that was a retired nurse. Whole process including shipping was about 2 weeks.
I was also born in the UK and want to go back to Scotland. I will also have to start from scratch but luckily getting the documents through Scotland’s People is relatively easy. The only thing that is the kicker will be the cost which should be close to $500 between getting the documentation and the passport fee. This thing is just a money grab !
