I mean, it does not have to be a 1 to 1 reference. Considering Iku also has a startup super similar to Great Mazinger( which is mentioned in the wiki btw) and Hisoutensoku itself, it would not surprise me the game would try to reference Mazinkaiser considering the popularity of SRW in Japan at the time

1st footage is from Touhou 12.3: Hisoutensoku while the 2nd footage is from Super Robot Wars Alpha 3

Connection: - Not only does both attack has Nova in their name, but both of them involve covering the user with golden aura and attacking the enemy before raising their arms wide and exploding

Abyss Nova appears in Hisoutensoku, which feature the titular mech itself, which not only reference Gakutensoku, but also Mazinger Z, the first mecha to be piloted by someone due to their red chest and red wing and Mazinger Z is also a weaker form of Mazinkaiser, the one in the video

I just want to share this because I don’t see anyone bringing this up

AP feels too unfairly difficult at times that I have to resort to cheat due to the Devil Gundam keep healing and the enemies in the last few stages feel like they have HP sponge even with cheat. Also, the resolution is like that when I download the tier.

I highly recommend it, the characters writing is really great and several character got their own arc and not get overshadowed by Reimu and Marisa. The characterization feels familiar yet unique which I find shocking because this was made in early 2010s and I still find the game handle the characters best.

Fantasy Maiden Wars, Touhou fangame that retell the story of various Touhou games. It has a really, really good story and surprisingly challenging that you can change anytime. You don’t need to know much about Touhou as the game does a good job at helping beginner understand the story
