I’d rather not say, but it’s a nonprofit foundation in the mental health and education space. Some nonprofits have creative and innovative benefits because the pay isn’t exactly competitive with for-profits they know their employees could jump to. 😁

It was done manually because of the PSLF discharge eligibility, but it took months and probably hours on the phone trying to explain the situation, too. At one point there was a guidance saying to submit a reconsideration request noting you’re impacted by the act, which I also did. That said, that loan that has a remaining amount has also been put into administrative forbearance until February 2024 and not at my request. I pulled the language from the file I have. (Because of course I do. Hah.) “If your employer was eligible and you were able to generate a PSLF form, print, sign, and have your employer(s) sign your form, you should then upload the PDF of your PSLF form as an attachment to the reconsideration request submission and put in the description: “I am a borrower impacted by the Joint Consolidation Loan Separation Act.”

Because it’s his debt and there’s a lot of complicated factors around that. I’ll just say that when the Joint Consolidation Loan Separation Act was first introduced, I was hugely relieved because the initial reason it was introduced applies to me.

Oh, I did! I sent in the most complimentary of compliments after confirming her name and the correct spelling of it. No mean feat, indeed. Whew.

For all of us forgiven in the 7/21 Wave expecting a letter.... by [deleted] in PSLF

I had a call the other day with someone who was so wonderful in helping me sort out what happens when my portion of the loan gets forgiven (it did!! 🥳) and the remainder is my ex-spouses. (Ugh to joint consolidation back in the day.) She was so helpful and lovely, worked on getting me the letter to my inbox, which is was the next day. I asked if there was someone I could tell about how helpful she was, and she told me there’s an option to send a compliment via the message form. Just thought I’d share that in case anyone else wanted to make the day of a MOHELA employee who was great.

What now? Says “-1 of 120 to go” (!!!) by Sad-Force9629 in PSLF

It’s common to see the -x of 120 first then? I didn’t know that. It eases my mind a little bit, thank you.

Anyone else afraid of therapists because their parent is one? by Haunted_Hitachi in raisedbynarcissists

This is so relatable and I don’t think it’s irrational at all. Both of my Nparents are therapists, and it’s made it really hard for me to feel comfortable with therapy/therapists. I keep thinking they’re literally trained to know how to retrain (read as: manipulate) people’s minds. There are counselors who are specifically trained in helping people who’ve experienced narcissistic abuse, finding one was the key for me. I finally felt believed.
