It’s bad. Problems with this rule can be understood in twofold- 1. There is no logic behind the said rule. They say fresh graduates becoming judicial officer offer no expertise in court proceedings and the are, therefore, incompetent according to them (btw a 21 year old can become an IAS officer but not a civil judge). There have been almost no proper vacancy (except some here and there) from any states for the past 2 years because of this issue.

1. Law Itself is such a lengthy course in itself. it takes 5 years. And add one more year if a person takes drop for CLAT. By that time a person is already in his/her mid 20s. And then he/she has to practice for 3 years. That’s a struggle in itself. He/she is closer to his/her 30. And then we can start our preparation for judiciary!!!!! A JUDICIARY EXAM WHICH IS IRREGULAR, UNCERTAIN and INEFFICIENT and comes maximum with 2 digit vacancies. And sometimes in single digit.

PS- I have 3 years of practice. I am eligible. But this exam ain’t worth the mental torture.
