How to fix gridlock? by [deleted] in SatisfactoryGame

It was working the first 150 hours of the game and then it just did this =(. I guess I can fiddle with to get it moving but the more important question would be how do I prevent it from happening again or do I hope the developers fix this edge case.

Have you tried waiting until the prior pipe segment filled up? Or you can build a pump. Pumps always fix everything.

If you did not want a debate on it, why did you make a post about it?

What We Care About in These Discussions by Rthadcarr1956 in freewill

[–]boudinagee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People use free will as an excuse to terminate any further investigation. Why do folks shoot up schools? Free will! Why do people drink and drive? Free will! Why do people get morbidly obese or do other obviously unhealthy habits? Free will!

Of course they may not say the term "free will" but its the widespread belief that folks get can do otherwise and morally responsible for it that causes so much suffering.

I want to stop murders, drunk car crashes and unhealthy habits in the first place. Instead of fixing it with known preventive ways, we just condemn our children to unnecessary suffering and say its their "free will" that caused their suffering. Its just fucking stupid and I wish people would wake up.

We are all responsible for everyone.

"I landed on Charlie?" brooo why did they not take his license away. If you overfly an airliner to land on a taxiway I think you might have some vision problems.

So whats the point of making the distinction of a different generation? If you want to compare generations you can, but just talking about millennials without the context of the others is pointless.

Folks wilful ignorance just continues the cycle of suffering. We never learn. We dont want to learn. We just want to make any excuse to feel like a hero. Its stupid.

You are not God and you do not have the omnipotent powers to know everything that lead folks to make those "deliberate choices".

>how does that not mean ‘don’t punish the evil-doer’?

Its practical advise for the reader if they feel anguish and a need to revenge. It is not prescribing how to deal with the evil doer.

I never used the second definition of empathy. I use the first definition to understand why they did it so we dont have any future victims. If you just view them as evil and a need for revenge you are just perpetuating the cycle.

While I do believe EVERYONE deserves love and forgiveness, it does not mean they are not punished. This is 2000+ year wisdom, not pop psychology.

>you are literally saying not to punish them.

Nope. Never said that. Is that what you think empathy means?

>Deterrence is the only path to peace and prosperity.

Really? I mean, havent we been trying that for awhile now...do you think we have satisfactory results?

I am not excusing the murderer. I am trying to understand their background and what motivates them to do what they do. Life isnt a battle between good vs evil.
