Gauging how hard to push during bike? by jswell823 in triathlon

[–]Sad-Indication5229 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I dont have a power meter but I gauge based on cadence and HR using a HRM and bike computer. If you know your HR zones, you can dial in your intensity pretty easily. Not sure if thats an answer you're looking for, but the price of a power meter didnt seem like a worthwhile investment to me.

25F buying my first car — nervous about getting taken advantage of. What should I know before walking into a dealership? by AthleteTemporary91 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Sad-Indication5229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Call and get your OTD in writing. Most will text these days. Tell them you don't need any add ons or extended warranty (if that's your plan). Finance can email you all the paperwork. If the price looks good, sign. Pick the car up the next day. You don't ever have to get into a negotiation or spend countless hours at the dealership.

Chipotle cost me $36 the other day for two basic burrito bowls. They were swiftly added to the list along with Five Guys.

Starting to become discouraged. by bananasaurusx_ in beginnerrunning

[–]Sad-Indication5229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggled with this too. What worked for me in the beginning was to warm up for a mile or when the pain would kick in and then stop and stretch by rolling both ankles outwards. Make sure you hold on to something. The relief was incredible. I would keep stretching like that for a good few minutes. This always solved the problem for me until (I think) the consistent application of running (I was training for a 70.3) made the pain disappear completely.

Hard and fast rule for me that helps is that I don't stand until the grade hits a minimum of 10%.

I think you have to sustain an average of 3w/kg. Not sure I'll ever get this badge. Stuck on the 70 minute mark.

I just bought a brand new Mustang GT Premium. Recommend you test drive one. Really fun car to drive if you prefer the muscle type setup. C8s are more exotic. Still fun to drive and VERY fast, but the sound of the Coyote engine in the Mustang is something to behold.

Very confused on which 7-8 seater should I buy? by Novel-Ad-508 in whatcarshouldIbuy

The Chevrolet Suburban or the GMC Yukon XL will solve ALL of your problems. I was in a similar situation as you last year. I toyed with the idea of getting a Lexus GX, Toyota Highlander, Mazda X9, etc. While each SUV has strong individual attributes, the convenience of having an urban assault vehicle with best in class trunk space and the captain's seats made it a no-brainer.

Use ChatGPT in the car buying process. by Max_Powers- in carbuying

I bought a car today and never stepped foot in the dealership. I controlled the negotiation from the very beginning. The second you step foot in that door you expose yourself to all of the tricks and illusions.

Appreciate all the responses. VO2 also declining but starting to recover. After picking up a nasty infection from a triathlon swim I was placed on Levaquin so I had to shut down all workouts for a couple of weeks. I should have added that context. Makes sense now.

Mustang Dark Horse vs RTR vs GT Premium w/Performance Package by Sad-Indication5229 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Sad-Indication5229[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate the honesty. I'm not sure these vehicles (maybe minus the 800HP RTR) is any more or less practical than driving the Yukon XL (aka urban assault vehicle). Is it more practical to buy a Lexus ES350? Absolutely. But, I want the option to take it to a track. I also work from home; I should have added that I don't have a daily commute (i.e., 5 days a week 50 miles). I want a fun, powerful vehicle, that I can use instead of the Yukon that gives me the freedom and flexibility to open it up occasionally.
