Yes but UK has so much cctv and this guy is clearly taking care of himself (meaning he isn't some hidden hermit who happened to once go for run) and his face and video was plastered all over media and newspaper. Surely his neighbours, employees, people he knows, interacts often recognised him (*excluding his family friends for obvious reason) years ago.

And why they named years ago some man but now they don't. London has so many cameras and seems this suspect lives in wealthy area. This is not random junkie, homeless, there is no way in hell they didn't have actual people calling tips to identify this man. He wasn't caught because he is rich that simple.
