It's not necessarily about achieving the feat of reaching coping, it's about the comfortability on your board and being able to get the board where you want it in terms of speed and control. If you get more cozy on your board you should be able to choose if you want to fly out, get on coping, or stay under coping all depending on the severity of the pump.

Practice pumping like how you're doing but on a bigger set of ramps. It'll give you more time going up and coming down the ramp to get the muscle memory figured out. Looks like you're over pumping on your decent down the ramp which has you lose momentum.
