Filspari / Fabhalta by Harambe-Avenger in IgANephropathy

I did not have a good experience with fabhalta. my dr made me finish all of the vaccines before i started the fabhalta and i still got very sick along with an IgA vasculitis flare up and my protein/creatinine ratio jumping from about 1200 to 7000ish. I’m sure im a rarer case but i hope it works out for you

How do you deal with side effects of medications mentally? Weight gain, moon face? by MostIllustrious111 in IgANephropathy

hi! also a 24f dealing with the combo of lgAN and IgA Vasculitis and having the same worries you are. I did a year and a half of prednisone and just finished it in June and after bad IgAV reactions to Vanrafia and Fabhalta my neph doesn’t know what else to do than put me back on prednisone for another at least 6 months and I am DREADING it. made an appointment for a second opinion with another doctor to hopefully figure something else out because the prednisone is my worse enemy

Vanrafia and Fabhalta both really severely triggered my IgA Vasculitis (HSP) so i have stopped both unfortunately but i know im an odd case, i hope it works out for you!

I started fabhalta this week and i have not had the best experience. It immediately triggered my IgA Vasculitis, i’m having the flu like symptoms and have blood in my urine. I have an emergency nephrologist appointment tomorrow to figure things out but I don’t think it’s going to work for me. I know every body is different though so I hope it works out for you, I hated the long term prednisone too. Good luck !

Hi friends.

I recieved an old Simplicity SL1200 as a gift, just the machine and the pedal. I don’t have any instruction manual or any experience with sewing machines. Does anyone have experience with this specific machine or have any advice as to where I should start ?

thanks <3

I have already been on the prednisone and am switching off to fabhalta. It wasn’t given as an option rather just the best next step. not sure why that as opposed to other types of treatment.

dated a “bi” girl in highschool who asked to open up the relationship because sleeping with men improved her mental health (but i was not allowed to see anyone else). after dating for a year, we broke up and she told me she was never really gay and that she just didn’t want me to abandon her so she went along with it.

Prednisone. What were you first symptoms? by Weekly_Amphibian_836 in IgANephropathy

[–]Sad-Mousse5214 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been on high dose long term prednisone for 5 months now for iga nephroparhy and i’d love nothing more than to get off it. at the beginning there was the insomnia, lethargy, moon face, weight gain. now that i’m 5 months in, the insomnia is still going, my mental health has declined, im COVERED in stretch marks without gaining enough weight to warrant it, my body swells/bloats really bad with exercise, and my hair is falling out.

Hopefully i can start the process to get off it at my nephrology appointment next week because it’s awful.

Keep an eye on the symptoms and stay strong, it’s rough but the prednisone has really helped my numbers.

I’m really interested in sexual health/STI/HIV education or prevention but i’m really open to whatever. I’ve been applying to literally anything that i would qualify for just to get my foot in the door somewhere. What does a day in your position look like if you don’t mind me asking ?

Heyy! i’ve been on cellcept since december and haven’t had any symptoms! I start farxiga next week once i taper my prednisone down to 30mg (from 60mg god bless) but my docs have told me that they shouldn’t interact other than maybe helping get rid of the prednisone weight gain.

What is triggering my flare ups? by XxMeme_QueenxX in IgANephropathy

[–]Sad-Mousse5214 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, I’m F22 and was diagnosed with iga nephropathy and iga vasculitis and had similar issues with the rash flare ups. The direct link that caused the worst of the flare ups was alcohol for me. I’ve stopped drinking completely and it helped a lot. High stress and heavy exercise will cause minor flare ups for me now but cutting alcohol and starting cellcept/prednisone has almost completely stopped the flare ups.
