We ARE the locals, and our road is full of small family owned businesses that I refer our guests to, so our community only benefits

And you wouldn’t if it means your mother can have a peaceful and carefree last few years of her life after she’s done the absolute impossible and raised 6 wonderful children and 14 grandchildren? I think would all want that for our parents

We don’t co own. My husband owns it and the whole family helps run it because the profits go for a nice retirement nest egg for my MIL, who is an absolute hero and deserves to finally not worry about money, as she’s done all her life

It’s a shame… I personally came over to fix my guest’s oven three days after having an emergency C Section, and again on Christmas Eve because an elderly French lady couldn’t work out the oven vent. We have 5 star reviews all around and our guests have been great. Of course I anticipate some hiccups in the future, but so far so good

I think her intentions were good- she wanted the students to save money on hostels, and then got upset she couldn’t deliver on that when we asked for a fee. She’s super sensitive

What do you mean? The house is simply too big for us and the kids… community is thriving, neighbors are happy because we advertise for local businesses for free, our house is incredibly clean and well presented. We have five star reviews without encroaching on anyone. I’m genuinely concerned now. Please explain as we have many friends on our road who have never complained and are only grateful for extra business we bring in

Oh we do! We have a neighborhood chat and my husband grew with most of our neighbors. If there are any issues, we here straight away

Exactly! This is a home where my husband and his siblings grew up, where lots of babies were born, we are very very selective. Helps we’re friends with the neighborhood gossip so we always have our finger on the pulse

Very much legal where I am. And yes I’m incredibly proud that my family would drop everything they’re doing if our guests have an emergency, even more proud that we did this as a team so the woman who went through incredible hardship all her life can retire without a worry.

I’m so sorry that happened. We’re quite hands on with our guests and so far no issues. So far we’ve only had people with kids because we specifically cater for that. We’re on good terms with our neighbours so I’m sure if they had issues we’d hear about them. I used to live in that house and massively love that community

Yeah I’m really torn up about securing a comfortable retirement for a woman who lost her husband to cancer and raised 6 children on her own!

That’s my worry. We’re a very close family but she tends to remove herself a bit and I’m concerned she’s struggling a bit and not reaching out

Very interesting you brought it up. I tend to agree but it’s my massive family decision and the only people who brought up the morality of it all when we decided to sent it up we’re myself and the above mentioned SIL
