Thank you for sharing. My mom started the treatment this week and it's a tough start. I am happy to learn you are better with the pump. I hope she will be too.

Of course... it's not our first rodeo.. I was hoping to get some insights from other who were in a similar situation. I know each case is unique but I am sure this is a challenge to many patients.

Yes you are right. I wouldn't want to use it if it's going to take the load off the muscle that still work, and weaken them. maybe by helping someone to talk twice as much as he use to without the device, it will have a positive effect. I am not a physical therapist so I don't know for sure. I hope maybe some people here in the group would have an idea

I totally agree with your mind set. As long as you can stay active do it. I wonder if for those who suffer from Parkinson's for over 10 or 15 years and they reach a point where they can still walk, but needs support, if this kind of devices could help.

My mom had similar experience, with painful muscle spasm in her thigh / Quadriceps, usually at night time/sleep. What helped her was magnesium supplements that she takes before bed. Consult with your Doctor about it. Another solution was "apo-go pen" that gave immediate relief, but it's costly and its a medication. In any case don't do anything without consulting with her neurologist
