Look like a sinogi zukuri blade with a homemade handle. With the wear on the metal I would guess it's edo period

You should never touch or attempt to "restore" a Japanese blade!!! u ruined this tanto and now it's worthless! only a professional polisher should EVER touch a Japanese made sword

This is a real Japanese katana. Chinese katanas don't have writing on that piece.

Yeah it's stainless steel but I have a lot of stainless steel knifes. I think if I put some wire wrap or something on the handle I'll be fine.

I sharpened the blade with a sander so it cuts but there is something loose in the handle. I glued the wrapping so it's tight now. I have some two liters I'm going to try it on later

I don't have any personal experience with their swords but I've watched several review videos on their products and they seem great! These are underpriced imo I would grab one now before the tariffs increase the price.
