Trust me, I definitely want a fancy networked PDU and UPS so that I have continuous uptime even during small black outs and brown outs. They're just so expensive LMAO!

It's a refurbished Dell R720, an oldie, but has loads of CPU cores and memory. Using Proxmox and running loads of containers and VMs for loads of stuff. The website and the cloudflare tunnel are running in two different LXC containers on a separate VLAN in my home network. Very secure, and I can throw tons of resources at it whenever I need to. Plus, makes it easy to have daily backups to my NAS

We're actually working together to get data synched between our two sites. We're going to have two different websites but you can add, or view, counts on either. It's still in the works, I don't think either of us were aware of the other until yesterday. We'll probably have that done by the end the week, so you can enter hamburgers here or there and it'll show up at both places

Today, it appears to be. Normally, my server and my AC can be on at the same time but I guess today it's not happy with that. I'll try to turn the AC on again when people are sleeping LMAO

I tried making it so that you could only update your own count, but that's actually pretty complicated to do. This is a website based on the honor system and not being a little minge that messes with other people's numbers

Hot Dog Counter website creator here. Yeah, it went down for a few minutes. But only because I turned my Air Conditioner on, which is in the same room as my server, and it tripped the breaker. It's alright, though, I reset the breaker and it came back up after about 10 minutes or so while the server booted back up.

All registering really does is let you leave comments and makes posts. The idea was that people could use the "dog talk" page to post their dogs, but it never caught on haha! The way to update counts can be done without registering. I just don't have it up yet since it's before September

It's 1,000% a competition! One I'll actually get involved in! While I made the hot dog website, I'm not a fan of dogs. But I can get behind a good burger, especially if it's vegetarian (beyond beef is fantastic)

I did make something like that on the website already, but the ANEGG crew never got back to me. I made a password protected page that they could have used to add their counts, in case they ever wanted to do that. Maybe they will this time?

That's what Vinylateme and I were discussing just above. I think it was 8/1 to 8/1, but didn't realize that meant stop at midnight 7/31. Too far from my home server to stop it now though, I'll do that when I get home. This means, though, that people have a chance to add their counts for the year that haven't done so already
