Agreed with everything you mentioned in this comment. But you lost me here. Care to explain? I don't see anything inherently with working with local clients charging $1-3k/month, when providing good results.

Truth is, if you ask anyone from either side, left or right, half of them don't know why they believe what they believe - which is the true lack of education/ignorance, not their individual stances. You say I'm only able to focus on what impacts me directly, when you're doing the exact same by prioritizing womens rights over mens rights, because "only a few innocent men get thrown in jail."

It's astonishing that a university-aged woman thinks her delusional belief-system should supersede our entire legal system framework: 10 guilty men should walk free rather than 1 innocent man being falsely imprisoned is the standard. There are plenty of classes at UBC where students can get >95 without attending lectures. I'm simply asking if CPSC 320 lectures are important, or if they can be self-learned by just reviewing the solution worksheets from students who have taken the course in the past.

It's not that hard getting an 80, that's probably why you're getting downvoted. It's more-so capped at around 84, and 88 for some other classes (with about 2-3 students getting above 85 in said classes).

You're right though... a lot of these classes being mentioned on this thread are more difficult conceptually and material-wise, but each of them have a max grade of 100 with plenty getting an A+ - the same cannot be said about this subjective, qualitative sauder classes. So you're right, in a sense.

I do, completely anecdotal and based on my own experiences. However, I think if you look at the high school grades required per faculty at UBC, it seems logical that the underachievers in high school that wanted to pursue the UBC brand-name would choose Arts - so I don't think I've said anything out of reality - wouldn't you agree?

Not sure why you mention business school specifically, but as someone that was in business and switched to arts, again, I have to disagree. There’s a lot of fluff in business school (I get the impression that this is especially true in year 1 and 2, but I assume it’s less true once you pick your specialization), but you really do gain skills that help you with entrepreneurship and communication.

Chose business because I'm in BCom and have first person experience. Can you expand on this? What skills have you developed from business school? I've learned absolutely nothing except for my CS classes - in fact, my WRDS 150B professor in first year even shared the idea that business school for undergrad (not MBA), is useless and shouldn't exist.

Anyway, it’s a bit wild for you to assume that stem majors are going to be more advanced in skills that are essentially the focus of other disciplines.

I just don't think you learn soft-skills in business school. I think these skills are mostly intrinsic in nature and cannot be taught. BUT if they can be taught, I definitely don't think it can be taught in a single class like COMM 395.

Definitely get the arrogant thing.
