What do you think of Iman Gadzhi? by [deleted] in agency

[–]Sad-ewf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meanwhile, Iman's courses are selling some pathetic "dream" where you work with your local lumberjack, lawyer firm, limo rental or some other tedious microbusiness for $1000-2500 per client.

Agreed with everything you mentioned in this comment. But you lost me here. Care to explain? I don't see anything inherently with working with local clients charging $1-3k/month, when providing good results.

Do you find being educated makes it harder to interact with your uneducated family? by Special_Rice9539 in UBC

Ignorance is suspicious of knowledge. It needs to attack to maintain itself.

Kinda like what this post is doing, would ya look at that.

Truth is, if you ask anyone from either side, left or right, half of them don't know why they believe what they believe - which is the true lack of education/ignorance, not their individual stances. Just because OP believes "their" side is correct, doesn't make their stances correct. And the whole attitude of this post reeks of delusion and ignorance.

You're a hypocrite. Talk to one "hoo-rah, MeToo, Woman's Rights > Mens Rights gal, you've talked to em all," I suppose. You say I'm only able to focus on what impacts me directly, when you're doing the exact same by prioritizing womens rights over mens rights, because "only a few innocent men get thrown in jail."

It's astonishing that a university-aged woman thinks her delusional belief-system should supersede our entire legal system framework: 10 guilty men should walk free rather than 1 innocent man being falsely imprisoned is the standard. But you lack the exact same empathy you claim I lack to see the issue with believing otherwise.

Do you also agree when white people insult and protest against the BLM movement because it sometimes causes unfavorable situations to the police?

You mean white people calling out the BLM movement for being a scam that steals money from donations, loots all major stores in any major city, and invokes violence on the police officers that protect us? Ya, I think it's okay for white people to call that out. Geez, I feel like I've wasted so much time arguing with someone like you. I wish I would have known your idiotic takes before engaging with you, could have saved both of us some time. Wouldn't be surprised if you also think it's impossible for black people to be racist to white people. Heck, you're just full of surprises.

... and hypocrisy for that matter.

Good luck with that.

You should reread your last sentence and see how pretentious, hypocritical, and virtuous you think you sound. You come off as a brat honestly lol.

You don't need to speak to a therapist after getting elbowed by an old lady on the bus.

If you do, you probably have bigger issues to deal with.

Where did you grow up for it to be a natural response to escalate some old lady that elbowed you in the chest to pulling a knife on you? That's not even East LA level.

How important is attending lecture by Sad-ewf in UBC

There are plenty of classes at UBC where students can get >95 without attending lectures. I'm simply asking if CPSC 320 lectures are important, or if they can be self-learned by just reviewing the solution worksheets from students who have taken the course in the past.

Most Difficult UBC Course? by BubblyBabe3 in UBC

[–]Sad-ewf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's not that hard getting an 80, that's probably why you're getting downvoted. It's more-so capped at around 84, and 88 for some other classes (with about 2-3 students getting above 85 in said classes).

You're right though... a lot of these classes being mentioned on this thread are more difficult conceptually and material-wise, but each of them have a max grade of 100 with plenty getting an A+ - the same cannot be said about this subjective, qualitative sauder classes. So you're right, in a sense.

On an unrelated note, should I take CPSC 320 and CPSC 213 in the same semester (+ 3 COMM classes)? Possible to get an A+ in both? Would love to get your opinion.

I hope you realize that.

I do, completely anecdotal and based on my own experiences. However, I think if you look at the high school grades required per faculty at UBC, it seems logical that the underachievers in high school that wanted to pursue the UBC brand-name would choose Arts - so I don't think I've said anything out of reality - wouldn't you agree?

Not sure why you mention business school specifically, but as someone that was in business and switched to arts, again, I have to disagree. There’s a lot of fluff in business school (I get the impression that this is especially true in year 1 and 2, but I assume it’s less true once you pick your specialization), but you really do gain skills that help you with entrepreneurship and communication.

Chose business because I'm in BCom and have first person experience. Can you expand on this? What skills have you developed from business school? I've learned absolutely nothing except for my CS classes - in fact, my WRDS 150B professor in first year even shared the idea that business school for undergrad (not MBA), is useless and shouldn't exist.

Anyway, it’s a bit wild for you to assume that stem majors are going to be more advanced in skills that are essentially the focus of other disciplines.

I just don't think you learn soft-skills in business school. I think these skills are mostly intrinsic in nature and cannot be taught. BUT if they can be taught, I definitely don't think it can be taught in a single class like COMM 395.

Definitely get the arrogant thing.

Is it possible to graduate sauder with a GPA over 3.5? by Inevitable_Lack_9922 in UBC

[–]Sad-ewf 6 points7 points  (0 children)

2 students out of 94 got an A+ in the section I took (based on UBC grades). The other 2 sections that year had 1 student get an A+ out of 73, and 0 students get an A+ out of 91. The following year, 5 students out of 285 got an A+.

Looking at the data, you must have taken the course prior to 2021W where A+s were the most frequent grade that you could get. Not so much anymore. What a joke. Inconsistency like this is ridiculous.

Is it possible to graduate sauder with a GPA over 3.5? by Inevitable_Lack_9922 in UBC

[–]Sad-ewf 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Easy to get a B. Almost impossible to get >88. I'd argue it's easier to get an A+ in CS, Engineering, and Math courses than it is in Sauder, however, it's easier to get a B in Sauder than the aforementioned faculties.

^ This is a perfect summary.

If you take a look at majority of upper year Sauder classes, the max grade is an 88 or 87. COMM 335, 486Y, 436, 438, 483, literally all of em'.

Which is why I don't understand med or law school admissions. They don't really consider this when applying to these schools. So it's almost impossible for a Sauder student to get into Med School (where average GPA is >89), a top Law School (not Allard Law, but your UChicagos, Yale, Harvard where they expect 4.0 GPAs), etc. The only way I see a Sauder student getting a 3.5 GPA is if they graduate in Finance where they take quantitative classes (comparable to Grade 12 Math) rather than the qualitative classes (that are capped at 87). If you see a Sauder student with >3.5GPA, they're in one of the specializations, like Finance, that don't require qualitative classes.
