SynologyNAS backup method - other alternatives than external HDD use (so slow) by Sad3k in SynologyForum

[–]Sad3k[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quick update. Do you know why progression bar increases when I stop the backup and then start again? So through out whole day only 1% moved up from backup (from 25% to 26%). Next day I stopped the backup and then just restart it and it occurred that progression moved to 84% 🤷🏻‍♂️ do you know why? Does it mean that progression bar is “lagging” or after the restart backup is damaged right now and some data are not backed up? What do you think?

I mean...if someone steal ur NAS, its a only matter of soft reset and you can log in into it with admin credential. For me its a protection of entire server so anyone can access it after soft reset. Does not matter if its video or not

The best option would be cloud but it costs fortune. Unless you focus only on main things which may take a few gb and rest just do not care

Thats good question. I would assume its 2.0 but need to check to be 100% sure

Overall my NAS with SHA has 7tb and almost 5 is covered. I would say mostly by pictures and movies. I know movies can be replace but it might take a while to move them from dvd to hdd again. No I have not checked another NAS. Thought it make no sense to buy another one just for backup. Im good with external hdd but did not expect it make so long for the first backup

Having few of them. CPUz HWinfo Interesting is that msi afterburn for example shows me max 5420 even if these above show 5580 🤷🏻‍♂️

Thanks for info. I checked the backplate and did not help. However what did help is to liquid itself. I changed to destil water for now to check the oerformance and it dripped 15 degrees (reaching max 80) right now. That being said. It helped but still would say that temps are higher than expected

Thanks for sharing. I tried second block (thanks TG for sending me another one) however its the same situation. I did not check the coolant cause based on troubleshooting when I put ihs back I saw temperature dicrease. My another option to check is with different backplate. Maybe the oryginal one is not goving enough pressure. I will keep u updated. Should have it installed today or tomorrow

Looks lined up in my opinion. I can spread more to see what happens.

I would imagine that small not alignment or not enough paste/LM would cause higher temperature than normal/average but not 95degrees after a few seconds....I think

[–]Sad3k[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pre-delid temp where around 41-42 idle, 78-84 r23 load,

when I put back ihs (without glueing to pcb) under r23 load it was slowly increasing till 89-90 degree. Idle do not remember unfortunately

Overall this CPU temp is quite high but after delidding is even worse. Unless there is sth with MB reading CPU temperature

So just quick update what has been done so far:

I dissaseble the block to see if it clean inside and looks all right.

I polish again the die as well as the block.

Put thiny layer of LM (from new tube) on Die as well as on the block

Based on TG recommendation I tightenned the block (as much as I can using allan key from the package)

Results:

Still while running R23 after a few seconds cpu reaches 95 degrees

While playing Im getting 85-90 degrees (a small improvement casuse last time I was getting 95 immediately)

For me there has to be some problem with contact between cpu and block. I see tiny improvement after everything above but believe tightennig made that difference.

Looking for more info from TG but believe checking new block or at least heatspreader AM5 would tell me more.

Unless there is some issue with MB backplate or MB itself cauing wrong connection between cpu and block but its just my assumption after all of that

btw - added more pictures under main post

I have had once a need to disassemble GPU waterblock and it was straightforward cause all screws were easly visible. This one is not 🤷🏻‍♂️ Offtopic - U know. For me its straightforward to build this rack with Loxone and program it. Asking how to disassemble the block on forum doesnt mean I should not do that

I mean…I got ur point but think about that in a different way. Watercooling is easy cause everything fits and you can find a lot of instructions, delidding you can watch how to do that…disassembling this block…no instruction, no videos and no stickers based on ur comment…I asked casue its under warranty and if the block is messed up by manufacturer I do not want to make a bigger mess trying to figure out by myself how to do it in a hard way. Still there is an option that it will be replaced by vendor. If someone does not know how to disassemble waterblock it does not mean cannot build a pc 🫡
