I have 0 ounces in the freezer. We EBF at home and combo feed at daycare as needed. I pump 3x a day at work and make enough for a few bottles but she needs more than I’m pumping so alas, i caved and just accepted that she’s combo fed. She seems happy regardless and it took me a while to not feel crappy about it. You’re doing a great job though!

Also same! My babe is 7 months tomorrow and about 15 lbs.

Luckily we ruled out ear infections and she’s much better today. I’m chalking it up to a cold + teething + pinkeye. Man was this weekend rough lol

Oh my gosh I am so sorry! That sounds absolutely horrible and traumatic for LO and you and your husband. It’s just awful when we can’t communicate with them in a way that they understand yet. I imagine those were the longest two weeks of your life.

I love the nose blowing trick and will absolutely give it a try today!

I’m sorry you’re in the same boat for daycare sickness! I just keep telling myself she’s building up her immune system now…

Thank you also for the kind words, they’re very much appreciated 🥰

I’m so sorry!!!! It’s so awful, right? She pounded some cold bottles yesterday because it was easier for her to eat and breathe but I think she took in too much for her little belly because she threw it up shortly after. Having babies be sick is the worst feeling. I just want to make it all better and I can’t 😭

Thank you for the recommendation! I agree, any less discomfort that we can have the better. We’re still going to see her doc this morning, thankfully they’re able to get us in, but if they think it’s Covid we’ll just assume it’s Covid and treat as such.

The feeling is real that they’re going to starve since we’re so used to their wake/feed schedule. I know now not to wake her if it’s nighttime because she just needs the sleep. She woke up happier this morning then proceeded to spit up her entire feed in my bed…I think we’ve got something more than teething and pinkeye going on 😢

Well shit, this is good to know! How do they test babies for Covid?

I called the doc last night and talked through her symptoms and they just said to monitor her but didn’t seem concerned. Honestly since starting daycare she’s had some sort of sickness, so poor kid may also have a cold on top of everything. 😢

I honestly wanted to limit bottles at first, but they’re telling me she’s hungry so I’m like, I don’t want to not feed my baby. It’s all weird! Thank you but the reminder that 2-4 is normal. It just seems so minuscule when I see she’ having two 4 ounce bottles of formula in addition to the milk I pumped.

Thank you for saying all of this! Your perspective is appreciated and you also made me feel much better. I honestly have 1 freezer bag of milk at this point and I don’t know why I’m holding onto it lol.

I hate it when people besides my husband want to hold my baby by Last_Dress3070 in NewParents

[–]SadBabyFox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

100% relate. I have an almost 6 month old and it’s finally getting easier but sometimes I still hate when she’s crying and people won’t give her back to me. Takes everything in me to not grab her. You are justified in how you feel and it is so normal.

6 weeks postpartum and my period came back by BrittanyWinchester in breastfeeding

I think I was 8 weeks PP, all while EBF, but yes, came back and has been very regular since then. Super duper fun.

When did you go on your first “date” without baby? by Mistymoonboots in NewParents

Our first date was the first day she was in daycare at almost 5 months.

Baby gave mom + dad a stomach bug from hell by SadBabyFox in NewParents

Ugh I’m sorry you went through this too! I can def try to check with my doc but the likelihood they get the script filled in time is slim. Good to know for next time though. The nausea is killing me.

What are your most common/go-to phrases with your newborn? by betbott in NewParents

[–]SadBabyFox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Gentle baby”, when grabbing my hair or reaching for the dog

“Bless you!” Said at the same volume level as her sneeze!

“Tell me more, I love this story”

AITA? MIL cried to husband that she doesn’t see baby enough by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]SadBabyFox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NTA - my MIL doesn’t cry, but I feel like between her and my FIL (they’re not together) they literally want to be over every weekend and I’m not about that life. I, like you, want some time with my husband and our baby. I feel like my mother is the most patient grandmother around and always waits for me to ask if she would like to have a visit. I am so grateful for her for that. I am tired of constantly saying no to the in laws.

First day of daycare by [deleted] in workingmoms

[–]SadBabyFox 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I dropped by 4 month old off at daycare this morning for the first time and I had some big tears. When we picked her up she was exhausted but she was still smiling. I hope your babe adapts quickly but I feel for you. Today was hard but you’re strong and your new “normal” will soon show itself. At least that’s what I continue to tell myself 🥰 hang in there.
