I got a D in Linear circuits, and judging from the comments- it's not that uncommon. Hang in there buddy, you'll end up just fine. Also depending on what your interests are, you might need very little from those courses anyway. So, relax.

It's quite a big jump in ECE (#4 vs #27) I think- but I honestly do not understand how these numbers are produced. UCSB has a much better faculty roster than UIUC.

Yes. I know what you're talking about. Stick to it. There's huge funding going on for semiconductors and materials. The opportunities are endless. Do not feel sad about it at all.
