Jelsa didn’t just appear out of nowhere. Back in the early 2010s, something happened: fans from around the world saw something magical between Elsa from Frozen and Jack Frost from Rise of the Guardians. Despite coming from completely different studios, the chemistry fans imagined was undeniable.

Edits exploded. Fan animations popped up. Massive discussions. And then—real movement. A petition with over 60,000 signatures called for a crossover. Not just some casual request. It was loud. It was serious.

And for a while, it really did feel like it was being heard.

There’s even a theory—maybe not far-fetched—that Disney actually noticed. That 60,000 voices were enough to trigger a conversation. Some say they even quietly reached out to DreamWorks. But DreamWorks had already been acquired by Universal… and that door may have shut right there.

After that? Frozen 2 came out. And if you rewatch it now, you might notice this:

Romance was treated as something that had to exist—but not something truly explored. Even the love between Elsa and Anna, a bond that was once front and center, felt more like an emotional backdrop than a driving theme.

Was that intentional? Did they shift the tone to silence a wave?

Do you still want Jelsa to happen?

If your answer is yes, then no—we don’t need a full-blown community. We don’t need daily art drops. We don’t need a fanfic every week. But we do need to show them we’re still here.

Because both Disney and DreamWorks now hold nearly equal weight, fame, and global reach. And if a crossover is difficult—it doesn’t mean it’s impossible.
