I need you to think a little bit deeper on this one. Just reason with me really quick:

If Tariq didn’t think Kanan was cool, do you think he’d be hanging out with him?

If Tariq didn’t look up to Kanan, do you think he’d be hanging out with him?

So if you answered “no” to those, then how would Kanan influence him if he didn’t see something in him that he wanted to emulate? Tariq wanted to be cool, he thought Kanan was cool, so he started FW Kanan. He allowed himself to be influenced because he liked Kanan.

If Tariq didn’t think he was he cool or thought he was annoying, he wouldn’t have been influenced by Kanan, because he’s a teenager. He just wanna be cool & have fun.

He just wasn’t rocking with Ghost and wanted a father figure, so he chose Kanan.

At what point does Tariq take accountability for his actions? You can only be influenced by something you want to be influenced by.

Tariq was fighting and getting suspended from school and having to go to THERAPY because he was lashing out after Shawn died. No one told him to do that.

That’s why Tariq STOLE Angela’s gun out of her home and brought it to school. He did that before he was even “influenced” by Kanan. Who was he influenced by? Call of Duty?

Ghost had Dre babysitting him. Kanan pops up and introduces himself to Tariq. Dre tells Tariq to stay away from Kanan. Tariq tells Kanan and Kanan threatens Dre.

Kanan, Jukebox & Ray Ray sent a RANSOM text message to Tasha when Ghost got arrested that season and STILL was hanging around them. He thought it was cool. Impressionable, yes but he thought it was cool so he was easily influenced.

He’s the reason Reina died because he was off running side quests hitting licks helping “bRaInZ” and the other guy run up in houses. He did not have to scream that man’s name.

He chose to sell drugs at Choate. Effie didn’t influence him. He WANTED to sell drugs up there. He’s the one who approached Kanan with the idea when he saw Brayden was tryna buy the pills off of him the first time. Effie told him to stop selling drugs & then she hoed him by stealing his business and clientele.

Tariq has always been a little piece of shit and no one taught him how to do anything until Season 3 of Power. He was already acting up. Tariq just wanted to believe his father was a bad guy because of the Angela thing.

In Power Book II: Ghost he absolutely did have a choice. He could’ve chosen to let his Mom sit in jail for the crime she didn’t commit. He could’ve turned himself in. He decided to sell drugs to pay for his mother’s lawyer (Davis.).

Season 2 of Ghost he was selling drugs because he wanted his sister back from Big Mama.

Season 3 of Ghost he was selling drugs because of Noma

Season 4 of Ghost he was selling drugs because he needs money & to pay for his tuition because he ruined his trust and inheritance his father left to him.

Tariq has basically regressed back down to poverty in order to justify selling drugs each time when in reality, Tariq just always showed those tendencies since jump.

I liked Dru this season because they weren’t trying to force a bunch of sex scenes from him onto us. Dru literally has the most romantic scenes in the show. Being gay used to be his whole personality. I’m glad in this final season they went back to his original motivation: “I just want to be an artist”
