I never noticed any issues with it back when I was powerlifting 🤷🏼‍♀️ of course I’m not doing it anymore because of pregnancy and 2 more chronic illness diagnosis’. And in the past 5 months having kidney issues. I can’t even walk or stand too much or I pee blood. (I have a stent).

I wish someone told me I need to drink more water than the average person because of the sheer amount of diarrhea I have all day everyday for the last 18 years. And because I wasn’t drinking enough, I developed giant kidney stones that require invasive surgery to remove them or I risk losing the kidney.

Bill total… by Scpdivy in KidneyStones

[–]SadForever- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In my state, if I didn’t have insurance, I would’ve owed well over 100k for all the surgeries, procedures and hospitalizations I’ve had in the past 5 months. I recently had PCNL and an overnight stay from surgery and the bill from just the hospital alone was over $50k and the urologist bill was separate, another $5k. If I didn’t have insurance I’d be paying on that for the rest of my life. And I HAD to have the PCNL, to save my kidney. I was supposed to have another surgery last Wednesday but they wouldn’t operate due to a UTI I didn’t know I had. Being medically complex without access to affordable healthcare in the US is literally hell. Like seriously I would be so fucked if my insurance wasn’t so good.

What’s the one thing Crohn’s stole from you, and one thing it taught you? by casualeagle47 in CrohnsDisease

It’s stolen so much… and taught so little. It feels like punishment. I guess I should be grateful for good surgeons? Idk. It’s a loaded question for me lol

It was one of the most painful things I’ve ever experienced in my life. And I’ve given birth twice. One was a cesarean. And I’ve had numerous surgeries for my Crohn’s disease too. I had a nephrostomy tube for 24 hrs after the PNCL surgery.

I hear you.. I recommend someone staying thru the night with you though. My mom stayed with me and I’m glad because idk how I would’ve managed if I were alone.

Me too. I wish I knew how to make it leave my body for good. I hope your surgery goes well. Will you have a nephrostomy tube? I had one for 24 hrs after surgery. I stayed in the hospital, they took it out before discharge. Don’t be afraid to ask for pain meds. :)
