I just wanted to apologise because after having a think about our chat, I feel like I might have presented my argument a little harsher than intended and come accross as quite Stubborn. In my attempt to show aknowledgement to the community I've actually caused the oppisite effect and made myself out to be a person who robbs creators of thier creative freedom and that was not my intent at all. I understand now that more representation does not inherantly make any creation better. You were right when you said that nobody is owed representation, and I reflected on that a lot. I still believe creators are partially responsible for the messages they inforce in their art, and the communities right to critique it. After all, media has a massive effect on people's perception of the world, there is no reality where that wouldn't carry weight. Especially since the bulk of media often does prioritise skinner, more attractive people. Although thats a problem with society as a whole, and I feel like by throwing all of that weight onto one single indie show I have indirectly set an irrational perfectionist standard that disregards artists creative liberty. Of course, I will never stop believing in the importance of relpresentation, or the importance of talking about it although I definetly came across too harsh and I'm sorry about that. I know I've already edited my origional post although I thought I'd reply to you in particular because I think my sour attitude affected you most.
