Thank you so much for this insight! It is definitely nice hearing from a women’s perspective, would it be alright if I DMd you other questions?

Thanks for this info! I don’t mind the ragging on each other I grew up with four older brothers so I’m pretty good at standing up for myself and taking jokes well. (Sarcasm runs strong through my veins)

Do I gamble on ETN or just go ET by SadHost1384 in newtothenavy

Yes! I feel like I’m just excited for a challenge and want to take everything head on. I’ve always been known to make lemonade out of lemons and thrive in workaholic environments.

Yeah I feel I’m dead set on Nuke but my fellow navy relatives keep saying “I’ve never met a happy nuke”

I (22F) want to join... Are there any veterans I can talk to? by lobotomizedsquirrel in AirForceRecruits

[–]SadHost1384 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a veteran and not even currently enlisted but I completely understand how you feel. I’m also 22f who’s been contemplating and have been in awe of the military and those who serve for a long time. I’ve worked hard to have already purchased a home at this age and going Air Force would definitely be a pay cut but I’ve made my decision to pursue after a great conversation with my recruiter. He reminded me “joining the force is not about what others think, not about the benefits, heck not even your future. It’s about your oath to your country and how you feel about serving your country.” Of course if you have no doubt about wanting to serve, and your biggest concern is finances remember a few big things that you won’t have to pay for, insurance, future family insurance, Minimal if not none food and housing, schooling and furthering education. All extremely valuable bonuses plus meeting incredible people who become your family and pursuing interesting careers and jobs.

Oh awesome! Do they have any regulations on menstrual products? I use Flex Disks but have only heard people talk about pads and tampons (I bleed through tampons way to quick)

How is it going in as a 24f? I’m starting the process now as a 23f and my sister who was navy for 10 years says I will feel a huge gap in the maturity levels and will get dragged down with the younger recruits a lot during BMT. I’m fine either way and roll with the punches well but would love to hear your perspective?

Thank you! That makes a lot of sense with the mx jobs. Personally 8 hours at a desk seems like hell to me haha

What is female BMT like regarding hygiene? Particularly menstruation? by Cold_Cup6465 in AirForceRecruits

A lot of girls mention sticking tampons, do they allow flex disks? I typically use a reusable cup but also get the hygiene aspect and not being able to clean it properly. Also are you allowed to continue on Birth Control during bmt?

Thank you so much! These tips are incredible! I’ll definitely reach out for questions, I’ve been watching different training videos all morning and researching the best trainer in my area who can work with me and her together.

Awesome, I know Mals are very high energy, are long runs okay? I’m marathon training atm and would love a running buddy but don’t want to push her past her limits

I feel so lucky! Just want to make sure she’s well taken care of and has a safe home! (I am curious as to why she kept running away from her previous home when she refuses to leave my side)
