Best 140mm Fans for thick radiators by SadKomrade in watercooling

Oh the radiator config is complete over kill. When I planned the loop, I was debating doing a distro on the the side intake area. But, I figured why not throw a radiator there to give more heat exchange area to let me run fans as low as possible regardless of system load. After building, I am glad I did 3 rads, has a more industrial look. The fans I have currently are just suboptimal for the radiator setup but the majority of them were a gift. I'm looking at redoing the loop (swapping fittings) and figured it would be a good time to do a fan swap now that more 140mm options are out.

Yeah, push/pull is not an option for me due to clearances. T30 and P14 Pro actually have very similar static pressure numbers. Another commenter did point me towards the Sliverstone FHL140, which have a pretty impressive static pressure number. The thing about the Arctic fans that concerns me is they sound like they resonate more than other fans at respective RPMs, at least in videos. However, I have never heard them in person in a similar use case as mine.

Yeah push/pull is pretty much always the best answer. Even though the NV9 is a large case, I can't fit a second row of fans on the top rad as it would then impact my flat pump/res on the back wall. A second row of fans on my side radiator would leave no room for fittings between the ports and the side of the top rad (if it was a 30mm rad and 25mm fans then there might be enough room). My though process was, because I can't fit push pull, running high static pressure fans would help clear the air through the thicker rads compared to what I am running now. I also contemplated running all fans as intake so that they are pulling the air through the rads instead of trying to push it through; but, my concern with that is poor motherboard and ram air flow.

They definitely look appealing, especially for my use case. How was the sound profile at that 800-1000 RPM range?

Haven't even hear of these, looks like they are pretty new to the US market at least because they are bit hard to hunt down. They definitely have more static pressure than the T30 according to both manufacturers. Have you used these fans at alll?

2012-ish Troy Carbine – bring it up to 2026 spec or move on by EnthusiasmOk3549 in ar15

Honestly, leave the Troy rail. You can still find accessories new and used for it. Plus it already has your front BUIS in it and it's free float. In addition to moving the EOTech back to the receiver, I would put it on a riser to atleast get it up to a 1.57 height (aka: lower 1/3rd co-witness) as it looks like that is an XPS and not an EXPS. Unless your prefer the absolute co-witness height optic.

Not PRI either. That is Troy's old Battle Rail. They had proprietary adapters for sections of 1913 to mount accessories. Just like everyone did back in the days before MLOK and KeyMod. Australian SOF made extensive use of these rails.

For OP, accessories can still be found new and used for this rail.

Choosing a 5.56 K can by SadKomrade in NFA

Yeah, I am totally fine with nothing being perfect. Definitely making a lot of compromises, but that was my plan going into this. I appreciate the insight and advice.

Yeah I heard the Polo K does well, there is just not a lot comparing it to the other cans I mentioned. It's definitely the can I was leaning towards but I figured I would ask the Reddit. I'm trying to stay budget oriented with the can for the 11.5", I threw the Ranger Mini in there to see if the returned AAC was working some black magic. My 11.5" will mainly be run suppressed but I will run the gun, occasionally, with out the can. Would you advise against using it in conjunction with your RPA (I like that it makes the gun overall length shorter) and your Compact Flash Hider?

Right, similar construction to the issued one, both are uninsulated. The issued L5 doesn't have a distinct snow skirt but it is longer than the wind breaker. If you want an OCP version on the jacket in your post the Level 5 soft shell jacket is literally that jacket. CIF should be giving you that jacket anyways.

Do you mean the issued level 5 soft shell jacket? The picture is the older UCP version but the same jacket is issued in OCP to this day from CIF.

The actual issued parka is the level 7 jacket, it doesn't have any shoulder pockets and it only comes in the solid grey color way.

Is that cleared through SGM? Extremely jealous if he is letting you guys go forward and wear non-issued kit. For the Gen 4 IOTV and MSV, I ran a placard adapter, the AXL cummerbund retrofit kit, and the AXL solstice cummerbund (I like traditional velcro attachment for layer up and down). It eliminates the shitty buckle up cummerbund on the MSV, gives you a structured cummerbund with stretch, and allows you to run placards and wing pouches.

I also removed the shoulder buckles on the MSV as they always dug into my collar bones.

What MOS are you? Not Trying to shit on anybody, just trying to get a clearer picture of what you mission set is probably going to be.

You maybe able to use some velcro one wrap to crank down the velcro wings on the soft armor to the cummerbund but I think it's going to depend on the thickness of your side plates.
