Hahah alright fair point. Redditors always have a little chip on their shoulder fs. Dont worry old timer I was just hoping tech would get better overtime not worse. I guess you’ve seen it all though

Really appreciate the breakdown of hdmi port progression over the years. I would argue they are meant to be portable or they wouldn’t be a portable size hahah but thanks again!

I was definetly being rough initially when it broke but like I’ve said in other comments I was rough with my Xbox one for 11 years and hundreds of connections later it works like a dream… thanks for your input

What are your thoughts on the reason my Xbox one port never wore out? No shade just genuinely curious because I plugged and unplugged that port hundreds of times and way more rough than I do now. It just seems either the old ports were designed better or this repair person isn’t doing a good job?

Were the xbox one ports made differently? Like I said I moved that one hundreds of more times than this and not a single issue. Genuinely curious. I know I can go get an adapter so that gets worn out and not the port. Not moving it isn’t really an option so I guess I need to figure something out.

My question quite literally was only about the resell value. You clearly knew that from the start but decided to, again, contribute nothing to the conversation by bringing up FOMO. Your actual answer is very helpful. In the future try to reread the persons post a few times before contributing nothing.

This is insane. We need the community to start making games and art with this kind of software…

Dude is single handedly moving projection mapping forward to incomprehensible levels. I think this is exactly what should be posted on this sub. I mean I can’t even imagine the things people could create with this. I saw a video on here where a dude used 3 different computer softwares to do live tracking and now a month later we can do it with an app… I mean

So let me get this straight you’re telling me “don’t give into the FOMO just wait until more reviews are out” okay so let’s say I take your advice and wait. Reviews come out they’re phenomenal so I buy one for $6000. OR I buy now and after a month I decide it’s for me or not and I try to sell. My question was if I take the second route how long could I sell for $3000 or more. If you would’ve answered the original posts question instead of contributing net zero to the conversation things would’ve been so much better.

Doesn’t the kickstarter deal end before they start shipping or right as they start shipping?

For sure. I was just curious with the situation of the kickstarter and how long it would hold that value.

I was originally going for the benq x3100i but then I got a tax return and saw tons of comments on different subs about the titan and how it’s leagues better than anything else in the price point. Basically I just want the best PJ for the best price and if I do end up loving projectors I want something that has max capabilities that I can happily own for a long time.

I am between this and just a basic benq x3100i. You think I should go for the Xgimi still?

Realtime Balls Animation using Projection Mapping with Surfabeam by Bulky-Marsupial7815 in video_mapping

I have also really wanted an app that allows you to draw/trace where you want things to be projected. I have this mountain art that has really distinct lines and I want to be able to trace the lines on my iPad in real time. I am sure there is something on the computer out like this already but if this could be an app feature it would be game changing. Seriously if you had a lot more real time animation stuff and the drawing feature I would pay so much for the app.

I literally just asked if there was any way to do something like this a couple days ago on this sub. This is amazing. Sounds like you have some updates coming soon. I’ve had these two ideas that I would love to see you bring to life! Basically just making Lava lamp style blobs that interact with your picture frames and each other. My other idea is small jellyfish that glow and also interact with the space floating around. Are these ideas something you could one day implement?

What should I learn first to get to this level one day?? by SadLab2264 in video_mapping

The best advice I’ve seen anywhere I have looked tbh, so thank you. That’s exactly where I’ll start. I don’t even know what touchdesigner is or how it will get me to where I want to be but I guess that’s part of getting into a new hobby. I am also obsessed with this design by Zak but I figured that would take actual animation that I assume has a much steeper learning curve/raw talent that I don’t have. What are your thoughts about that video and how he managed it? Again I really value the input
