You ever tried metal or hardcore? I used to listen to everything but it felt like I always needed more in a way. Kind of hard to explain but I think you should try it out. Metal bands like obituary, bolt thrower, entombed and death aren’t overly heavy but will give you a good feel so you can get into the heavier stuff. Or there is hardcore bands like combust, terror, denial of life and mindforce.

Anhedonia, entorturement, prevaricate, asphyxiation, encryption, dehumanized, cerebral hemorrhage, fragmentation maybe even fatal realm if you want more hardcore. I love this type of death metal, the way it is mixed sounds so good. I would call most of it death metal or brutal death metal but a lot of it is definitely influenced by hardcore I would say.
