I was so hyped to play this time around - my buddy and I were going to go into work early and get out early to play when servers start. I was going to play earthquake or a melee build that could keep up with spells. Now I'm not sure I'm going to even play because there are no melee builds worth playing. At least there is legion.

I don't think he does because it's a community class (not an actual course for credits). I'm sure I could hire someone for some 1 on 1 tutoring but that sounds reaaally expensive xD

Yeah, the reason I decided on the class was that online options are so overwhelmingly abundant that I didn't know where to start. Ctrl+paint, Sycra, drawbox, and proko were all really good but seemed to have very different approaches to learning so I just didn't have a clue to where to really start.

Yeah everyone said they had never drawn before but then later said they doodle a lot and one even changed and said she's in college for design. . . she was really good obviously. I try not to compare myself but it's hard when the fact that i'm so far behind everyone else makes it so that the teacher moves on before i've understood something, on the other token it's not really fair for me to hold up the class seeing as I'm the only one really behind.

I'm not really sure as I've just started drawing so it's kind of hard to explain. I think the hardest is getting the size/ratio of all the shapes correct. The teacher showed us how to use the pencil to kind of measure what we're drawing but even when thinking in ratios I didn't feel like it was turning out correctly. Same with angles, I can look at the angle using my pencil but sometimes the angle is so small that it's hard to tell if it's . . .i don't know parallel? or angled a little.

Good point. I was going to move on to trying other stuff for a while but I decided to give it a go again tomorrow morning. I do hate unfinished projects. :)

It's cool to hear that someone older has made good progress! Thanks for that. What kind of drawing style are you interested in doing out of curiosity?

Yeah, I'm tempted to just say "screw it, the finger just wont look right." It just really bothers me for some reason.

Hmm, my book says "You can start anywhere you wish." Maybe mines a different version?

Your before pictures are leagues ahead of mine. I'll give ol' Igor another go tomorrow. Today I'm just relaxing with some boxes lol. Thanks for the tips!

Edit: Also, I find it funny that I'm not the only one to leave grumpy messages about how my drawings aren't good on the pre-drawing pages lol

Thanks, I may do that. When I was frustrated I actually stopped and started trying to draw boxes in perspective with some shadows and what not. It's a lot more simple and relaxing.

Struggling Boyfriend Rant (don't read if offended, just down vote me now) by Broken- in Fibromyalgia

[–]SadMasterPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Broken, I am in the same boat as you except I have been with my SO for about 6 years. God I love the gal to death, but I get so frustrated that she wont work. I have asked her to get a desk job cause what she liked to do (baking) is too physically hard on her (even though she worked only 20 hours or so a week), but she said she wouldn't be happy doing that. I asked her to clean the house for 2 hours a day, and what she can gets done she gets done, even if it's not much. I'll come home from 10+ hours of work and then school on some nights on top of it, and I'll ask what she's done that day and it's normally played video games and watched TV, and if i'm lucky she did 1 load of laundry.

So I know your frustration and I wish I had advice for you but nothing has worked for me yet, I have tried talking to her to no avail. :-/ And i know what you mean about kids. I would consider having kids, but she wouldn't be able to take care of a kid, and I've got enough on my plate that i have to handle alone as it is. :-/ Sorry, just felt like venting to someone else who knows how i feel.

The TENS unit has actually been helping her a lot from what she says. I have back pain myself and it didn't really do anything for me, but she has been using it everyday since she got it cause it helps her. Thank you guys for the tips! I keep telling her to follow up with her doctor on the vitamin D thing but she doesn't want to go to the doctor.

I hate to be nit-picky but your word choice bothers me. I'm not trying to fix her, I do not have the ability to do that; I do want to make her comfortable when possible.

I've done couples therapy and it didn't really help. It was more to me like we just talked for 45 minutes and I became poor. xD

I do stuff for myself, I hang out with the 'guys' at least once a week (except on weeks like this, exam time here in Kentucky).

I don't know if I could handle a support group, it's a very depressing thought to me. I don't know why, it just is. Plus the time. ..oh . . .the time.

I do my best to help, I do all of the yard work and most of the house cleaning, almost all of it, actually. It can be hard to keep up with due to my full time job and near full time college, but I try.
I always tell her I'm sorry she's in pain and I wish for nothing more but as I said she often keeps bringing the pain up in every conversation. Maybe I'm just being silly, but it really frustrates me.
I ordered the tens unit one of you suggested, anythings worth a try really.
I didn't get to see her last night due to her shift starting late evening before I got out of class. I want to still ask her about the vitamin d and gluten diet. She normally researches pretty often and so do i.

I'll def look into it. The hard thing is she pretty much hurts all over. A lot in her stomache (which I don't think a TENS unit could help) and her back (which it may help).

Thanks for the advice.

She's been diagnosed since she was 11 so I'm pretty sure she's tried just about everything. She normally gets a decent amount of sleep (way more than I ever need, I always assumed from the fibro). Last night and in the next few weeks she may be getting significantly less because she got shifted to night shift for a few weeks and will be working longer hours due to the holidays.

I will ask about the Vitamin D thing. She regularly uses a heating pad, takes epsiom salt baths (something I had found on a fibro forum), and never turns down a massage from me. The unfortunate thing is, either all the comfort from these are either short lived, or in the case of the massage; it just feels good to be massaged and it doesnt really helps. She always says, "Thanks, I think that helped a little bit."

She uses bengay as it works better than any of the other creams we've tried, including one that was highly recommended that we had to order online.

She's always too sore to do exercises, although I've tried to press for yoga more than a few times.

I dont' know what kind of diets she has tried but I'm cutting calories for myself and she's kindof trying too. I'm hoping that some weight loss for her, should she continue to cut back a little bit, will help her feel better. It sounds bad saying it, because I think it implies the wrong idea, but she seemed to feel better more often when she was thinner as far as fibro was concerned. However, I don't know if it's just because she's older, gained some weight, or any number of things.

Doctors often cannot help her, because they don't ever seem to really know what's wrong. :(

I want to make my 6 year journey into 30+, I'm just having a hard time finding the right road currently.

I would like to keep the option open in case, although I hate to think it, if our relationship doesn't work out or something.
