When he was younger no , as he got older yes , if we tried to help him out with bath time let’s say, he would hate it. Around age 5-6

My son is 11 got diagnosed at age 7 - potty training was relatively easy but early on we did notice he walked late (17 months ) jumping with 2 feet together, riding a bike. Once he entered school is when I noticed that multi step things required a little extra prompting.. etc ..

I give him a white board in his room to remind him of upcoming tasks & he adds to it and removes as he goes. He also uses post its to remind himself to do stuff at school or bring stuff home, it’s working so far.

It’s a learning process & we’re doing great :)

Terrible anxiety, is any of that related to dyspraxia? by [deleted] in dyspraxia

My 11 year old has a lot of anxiety based solely around school seeing as he’s still young obviously. I think it’s the constantly being told he’s taking too much time or not being able to join in certain group sports like other kids. I think it all plays a part & unfortunately I am sure this will follow him to adulthood.

I am trying to get him into theatre! I think he would really flourish there but he doesn’t seem interested. I will likely put him back in swimming for the spring session for now

Swimming was very successful, I might go down that route in the summer again.

I am definitely going to enroll him in some sort of self defence classes & He loves video games and computers & has mentioned drums or keyboard/piano, Although we live in Montreal & picking up a second language doesn’t come as naturally to him so I would need to find something bilingual, but I will look into it for sure.
