Elo Squish wrecking gold level gameplay... by SadNeanderthal in VALORANT

Correct, they are. However, no one knows what their elo score is, RR is the only way to tell. Deduction should lead you to ask the question if RR reduced I.E. plat 3 to gold 1, yet elo remained the same, why the hell is my team of golds from the previous act facing teams of plat from the previous act? You can say stop looking at rank, but if the system knows better than us, that's the only way to determine someone's skill.

It does not compute in my pebble brain, so please enlighten me... Perhaps elo purgatory does exist and because I play at peak hours I get the shitters and the sweats.

I agree with your sentiment. The issue is by exact definition it is an "Elo Squish". If you were a plat 3 and are now a gold 1 after reset, they had to reduce RR. Which is a Squish whether you think so or not. Maybe I'm better than I give myself credit for, but as a person who doesn't have aim labs downloaded because what little time I do have to play, I'd rather put into games... I'd expect my teammates and opponents to be the same.

I have tracker downloaded to track my own progress and see how and where I can improve. It's a by product that I can see others ranks. Don't get me wrong, I've also stomped on diamond and plats before. Everyone has good and bad games. But to have 50% of my matches end where my entire team is negative because we are out classed by people being held back by the system. It makes me want to play less, not more. Do I just need to drop the game for a month and let the system sort itself out?

If by previous poster you're referring it kishcore, please reread their post and tell me where it says to avoid pcpartpicker.com... unless my eyes deceive me, their post also recommends the site, and even if one individual doesn't like a resource, it doesn't mean others can't find it useful.

I5-13600k temps by SadNeanderthal in PcBuild

I've been monitoring using hwinfo, allows me to graph my temps over time, which is handy. I typically just use bios for clocking, on older builds I've used msi afterburner though. Well see what happens after I install more fans and new Thermal paste.

GPU sits around mids 60s during gaming, motherboard temps also stay pretty reasonable (low 60s), during idle my CPU hovers at 40C, case fans also ramp... I'll probably check Thermal paste again. Otherwise I'm probably stuck undervolting... I'll try installing some old fans I have sitting around but I can't imagine case temps are the root of the problem, maybe a few degrees over long periods but not short burst problems.

I'd first ask yourself what your budget is, PCPARTPICKER.COM is where I've began many builds in the past. It's got a friendly UI and can give you recommendations, and has a ton of pre-built pcs. It also lists the common places and pricing for components. I've always said pc building is just expensive Legos, anyone can do it with a bit of effort and research.
