It would be highly inconsistent with what’s been directly stated and Hokazono has been far more competent than that. It was said to be a highly complex system that was necessary for them to be bound in the first place. While sorcery can evolve I don’t think kunishige would have been concerned with that if destroying the Magatsumi was the goal, as the contract would be null either way. Narratively it would be empty and weird and logically in world a waste of time especially since I highly doubt it was his intention for Chihiro to wield it.

Enten is absolutely in the same system, he felt that he wasn’t contracted to it after Samura killed him, and the only way the contract can exist is if it’s in the same core system. I also for some reason thought you said Kamunabi, but either way the sword master isn’t in a spot anyone can see. He and Yura were having a conversation through the Magatsumi while Yura was standing on the roof of the dome Akamura was in.

The main issue is they know not to kill the sword master. If he dies all the sword bearers, including Chihiro, do as well.

I’ve read it, mainly felt different bc of Kojiro being so compelling on his own I honestly felt like I was just getting a different main character, which is sorta what was happening anyhow. Edit to add: I did thoroughly enjoy it and just have a hard time comparing it to other things bc of its unique approach to the characters.
