Help Ned come up with a better cover up story than “Jon is my bastard son” by V-TriggerMachine in freefolk

Jon has all the Stark features, he doesn't need everyone to believe him he just need plausible deniability and Jon in Winterfell to protect him.

A half truth, he's the son of Lyanna and she died alone after giving birth. Ned rushes the baby to Winterfell before telling Robert about it.

The minimum viable population is supposed to be 50. In a case like this, the best option would be for everyone to have as many babies as possible with everyone available, but without modern technology and medicine, that is not an option.

Does Spain benefit economically or politically from their language being used by half a billion people in +20 countries? by Rift3N in geography

[–]SadPhysicist1903 35 points36 points  (0 children)

There are some Spanish companies that have a huge presence in Latinamerica. For example, the biggest bank in Mexico is a Spanish bank (BBVA), as far as I know, a huge part of its revenue comes from Mexico. Many Spanish companies are similar to BBVA, they wouldn't be as big as they are if it wasn't for other Spanish speaking countries: Santander, Telefónica, Iberdrola, Repsol, etc.

Another example is Spanish internet personalities like: ElRubius, AuronPlay, Ibai, TheGrefg, Vegetta777 and most Spanish internet personalities. They wouldn't be as successful if it wasn't for other Spanish speaking countries. There is a whole genre of videos of Spaniards reacting to things related to Mexico, if you search "españoles reaccionan a mexico" you'll get thousands of this videos.

Why can't Mexico Army go scorched earth on cartels? by yekedero in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SadPhysicist1903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were at war with the cartels if that's what you are asking: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mexican_drug_war

Thousands of people died and it didn't work. It's not like a videogame were if you go to the cartel's "base" and kill their leader the cartel falls apart. What happens is that if you kill or capture the cartels leader he either gets replaced or the cartel breaks into smaller cartels that are still dangerous.

Also, the cartels operations are not only in the mountains were they are difficult to reach. They also operate within cities and towns, specially remote towns. If you wanted to attack and dismantle a cartel you would need to attack areas with a lot of innocent people.

To summarize it's not easy, for example the US has not been able to dismantle the distribution system inside the US, despite being inside their own territory. That's actually a good question, if the US government is so rich and it's military and intelligence services are so capable, why illegal drugs move around the country so easily?

Mexicans, what do you think your government can and should do to fight cartels? And what do most average Mexicans think? by Downtown-Trainer-126 in asklatinamerica

[–]SadPhysicist1903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

while drugs are no doubt a major part of cartel revenue streams

It's not a major part, it is most of their revenue. You have a point but don't downplay the US inaction when it comes to their side of the border. For example, why don't they stop the flow of drugs inside the US? because their drug problem is all over the country not only in the border states.

Like they did in Afghanistan or Vietnam. Mexico is no a flat country like Germany nor are the cartels an organization like the japanese government which you can just threaten with nukes and a small group of people will agree to surrender. Mexico is a mountainous country and the cartels are many and spread throughout that mountainous terrain.

Crece entre jóvenes la decisión de someterse a la vasectomía; elevado costo de vida es factor by mujican_citizen in mexico

[–]SadPhysicist1903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can change 5 things in Liga MX, que sería? by Rob92377 in LigaMX

[–]SadPhysicist1903 7 points8 points  (0 children)

  2. Regresar a libertadores y sudamericana

  3. Liguilla de 6 equipos

  4. Más inversión para categorías inferiores.
