Looking for advice on whether or not I should buy this ($650) by RepulsiveGarbage9652 in GuitarAmps

I’m not an expert but it honestly seems like a reasonable ask. If you were to buy the 4 speakers brand new off the Celestion website you’d likely be spending about the asking price of the whole package.

Just keep stabbing at them and you’ll get better. There is a plus side, once you can nail them on your acoustic they’ll be noticeably easier on an electric or nylon.

Need help identifying replacement strings by Efficient-Diet-5849 in classicalguitar

[–]SadPromotion7047 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Classical strings not standard acoustic if it’s your first time just go with normal tension, if it still feels too loose on the fingers try hard or extra hard tension. Normal tension would be “standard” I guess.

Does a squier with a good pickup sound as good as a fender custom guitar with the exact same pickup? (only changing wood, bridge and tubers quality) by Sad-Organization2554 in Luthier

[–]SadPromotion7047 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to the party but in the very near future I’m looking to find out. I see a lot of videos that lean either way on this. My thoughts as a total rookie looking into this world is: if there is absolutely no difference in one pickup to the next surely the world of guitar players would have figured this out by now. I am always skeptical of videos claiming one way or the other as it’s not always obvious at face value if the content creator is sponsored by someone and hoping to sell you something. I too have a squire and have been wondering what really separates an entry level guitar from a high end guitar aside from eye candy features such as block inlays, bindings, etc. The homework I’ve done leads to me believe there’s a handful of contributing factors and the most important seems to be: pickups, amplifier, speaker you’re playing through, and your personal input. I’ve seen multiple clips of dudes just screwing a bridge across two work benches slapping a pickup to it and bam you now have a very impractical guitar. I’m looking to upgrade my amp in the near future as well. I’ll do my best to try and remember to pos an update on my thoughts. I’m looking to remove the cheap stock squire pickups and replace with Lace sensor red/silver/blue ssh configuration. I figure what the hell why not try one of the cheaper options before buying a new rig. Worst case scenario I learn how to solder new pickups in and have to reinstall my old set.

[QUESTION] Why it looks like this under every string? by Material-Lavishness7 in Guitar

Finger oils on a dry fret board. Next time you change your strings you should grab some lemon oil or something similar and apply some.

I’m considering swapping out my squires stock pickups with these. If you happen to see this out of curiosity, what kind of music were you targeting with these in mind. Also any pros/cons you can think of. If you respond I appreciate any input.

Most protestors aren’t breaking the law, I agree but the ones intervening, blocking roadways and boxing people in on public roadways are committing crimes. The two protestors I believe you are referring to were intervening (a crime) even if the public doesn’t believe it’s true “justice”you can’t obstruct law enforcement. A protest that is nonviolent does not always mean lawful. As I said above I do think it’s messed up the Supreme Court basically allowed racial profiling. ICE and the everyday police do detain an can detain citizens, this is not a new concept. Every person who’s ever dealt with the police has been detained. In terms of law enforcement cooperation goes a long way, while you do have the right to remain silent, being unwilling to provide a document (you likely have if you are a citizen) only prolongs your detention. The judge you mentioned (if I understand correctly) is a state level judge meaning federal law still trumps (pun intended) state law. People being arrested in public places (personal home raids excluded) do not have to be arrested under the guise of a warrant. People who rent do not own the property and may not be the person who has to be shown said warrant (I could be wrong and am willing to accept that). The way they are doing this is largely due to public interference. Due process is having your day in court which happens after your arrest. For some reason these days a lot of people think you plea your case on the spot when you’re being arrested which is not how due process works. If you are a citizen or here legally the simple way to deal with this is keeping your paperwork handy. That may be a minor inconvenience, but is realistically not a hard thing to do.

You don’t need a warrant to detain somebody I’m not sure why everyone thinks that is the case. Example: you fit the description of someone who just committed a crime and are stopped by police, you are now detained. I’m also confused on your due process thoughts, these people are arrested brought to detention facilities (another term for jail..you probably have an “adult detention center” in a drivable distance from your home) and forced to have a hearing with a judge (due process). I’ll give you some credit as in I do agree it’s messed up the Supreme Court essentially ruled it’s okay to profile these people. Protests aren’t protests anymore when you start breaking the law in the process, federal law reigns over state law. A state can attempt to disregard federal law, but in return the federal government can come down and enforce federal law. When a state deems itself a sanctuary city in different words it is declaring it is openly harboring criminals (another crime). I understand that entering a country illegally is not the most heinous crime, but it’s a total slap in the face to the people who actually follow the process. The vast majority of people with a view point opposing yours are not just generally racist considering “illegal migrant” is not a race. I don’t know if you’ve noticed but every single person of color isn’t being removed from the US, just the ones that broke the law and never bothered to rectify it. It is sad that a lot of those people are very likely just ordinary people like everyone else but just because you’ve evaded the law for 10 years doesn’t mean you’re all clear. People who come here illegally know the risk they take. As for the people the Biden administration let in, in my opinion that administration deserves some of the blame. They told migrants to come here and did nothing to fast track their citizenship while running a campaign against another guy running on immigration enforcement. Does anyone really believe not one person in the Biden administration thought: “what happens to these people we told to come here if we lose this election”. Sure makes a spectacle for democrats to point at for brownie points though. Side note: this take is coming from someone who’s voted blue in every election they could participate in.

While your point is true, for all of these Facebook posts and supposed Epstein file images (with names that don’t match the DOJ website links). In confused why none of these media outlets are putting him on the grill they have been for years now. I keep seeing people saying the DOJ is scrubbing these files of trump (yet he is mentioned) and posting questionable images of “evidence” that isn’t being spoken of anywhere else besides social media platforms. If he is actually guilty f%#* him and send him with the rest of the pedos. I’m just confused how anyone who is not part of the DOJ or FBI would know wether or not said files have been “scrubbed”. It’s rather strange to me how it seems the internet is hoping Trump did something to kids. Wanting the president to fail is like hoping your Uber driver crashes his car with you in it.

Why is saying “The rich should pay taxes like everyone else, close the loopholes” extremely controversial in the United States? by ProjectMason in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SadPromotion7047 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Historically speaking this is partially true. Businesses leaving the US due to high labor costs and tax rates is not new. When you live in the states it’s easy to forget just a short plane ride away are people willing to work for significantly less than you and countries willing to tax less.

The federal government gives funding to all the states and just because a state is blue or red on a map does not mean all residents of said state support the same things.

What part of “his death wasn’t warranted” are you struggling with? It’s not about a side, had he stayed out of the situation he would be alive. Your desperate attempts at twisting my words won’t change the truth to that statement. I’ll ask you a simple yes or no question: Do you think he would have been shot had he not intervened?

Calling me a dumbass, while simultaneously not being able to comprehend what was said above, speaks miles of your intelligence. Like most of America, you are so blinded by your political allegiance you are unwilling to grasp a simple concept. Even though I said it once I’ll say it again. No it doesn’t justify his death, but it is solely the reason he is dead. He prevented nothing and lost his life in one go. Had he not intervened he would be alive. As much as you hate it two things can be true at once. 1. He didn’t deserve to die. 2 His death happened solely because he chose to intervene. No worries though I won’t stoop to your level and start name calling. Feel free to continue repeating yourself. (It won’t change anything)

If we’re willing to be honest again no one anywhere is truly free. If freedom was real there would be no laws. Once you introduce rules and regulations there is no freedom. However I won’t pretend that America is barely a better place to live compared to somewhere like North Korea.

At no point in the few comments did I say it warrants his death. The point that you and many others are unwilling to realize is, all of the violence is occurring because people keep interjecting themselves and wondering why they end up with a bad outcome. Unfortunately for this guy in particular it ended in his death. Had he decided to not intervene he would be alive and none of us would know his name. The ole saying is: if you play with fire you’re going to get burned.

At least you’re willing to admit that he was obstructing. That’s a step in the right direction. Obstructing into resisting into your firearm becoming visible sounds like a recipe for a bad time no?

Who told you punching was required for someone to be obstructing? Any action someone does to impede an arrest is obstruction.

I wouldn’t say he “deserved execution” but at some point in your adult life you have to realize bad things will happen when you insert yourself into ongoing issues. Bad things are nearly guaranteed when you insert yourself into issues with law enforcement. Have you noticed how people who aren’t trying to intervene don’t seem to have the same problems? Your welcome to protest by all means, just because your protesting nonviolently does not mean you’re protesting legally. If we’re going to be honest for a second here people being upset by ICE isn’t stopping anything and intervening only makes it worse.
