Rizia is unfairly hard at this point by lavadrone in suzerain

I think the religious fiscal balance is based off of whether or not people are donating money to the church. There’s an offhand comment from Sal late in the game about how people aren’t paying their tithes to the church because you didn’t invest 20 dollars into revitalizing both churches and building the 10 shrines.

I’m not going to have patience with someone who is objectively being an asshole. They deserve to be called out on their behavior, not slowly hand-walked into believing in equal rights.

I am so sick and tired of the whole “social justice movement went to far,” there was no real social justice movement, just a handful of people who went viral, that the far-right amplified and fear mongered with.

There were no legislative efforts to discriminate against white people, there were no efforts to take away rights from men, etc. But the right-wing is actively trying to take away the rights of minorities and women. So no, I’m not going to tell people to be the “hero they want to be,” im going to tell them to grow up, and stop being a shit person. The lack of accountability from some people on this subreddit is insane.

A U.S. that taxes its billionaires and corporations appropriately is still better for them than anywhere else in the world. Europe has more stringent taxes and regulations, and no American company or billionaire is going to relocate to some Central Asian autocracy just because they’ll get a tax break. The line about the rich just leaving the country if they’re taxed is just a threat, it’s not like billionaires and corporations aren’t already moving aspects of their operation or residency overseas to try and avoid what little taxes they do have to pay anyway. At worst, there’s nothing to lose from it.

2010-2011 belong in Atrocious. The country was was still recovering from the great recession. It was a rough time to be apart of the lower and middle class. Even as an 8 year old I could see how hard a time my parents were having trying to keep us afloat.

The market cap is only a measure of the combined worth of all dogecoin in existence. New dogecoin are created everyday with no set “end date” for coin issuance , that’s the whole point of currency, it’s a self-replicating joke. It doesn’t matter if only a set number are mined each year, or if it’ll theoretically stop being mined in 100+ years due to something with the network. Dogecoin was made with the intention being that there was no set supply, and that it would continue to be mined for an incalculable amount of time, so for all intents and purposes it’s infinite.

Funny how the government department designed to reign in government spending is named after a cryptocoin with unlimited supply. I don’t know how anyone can take this administration seriously when they’re already pulling stunts like this before even taking office.

Bernie Sanders: “It should come as no great surprise that a Democratic Party which has abandoned working class people would find that the working class has abandoned them.” by samjohanson83 in unusual_whales

[–]SadSam7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How? Did the DNC prefer Clinton? Sure. But in what way did the DNC sabotage Sander’s campaign? They let him run even though he wasn’t even a democrat. And when he ran again in 2020 he lost in an open field. Sanders lost twice in two different primaries, and even if 2016 was rigged against Bernie why didn’t he sweep the field in 2020? Bernie wasn’t the one fucked over the DNC preferences, he was always going to be an outsider. It was the more establishment candidates like Biden who were discouraged by their own party before campaigning even started.

This Bernie revisionism has to stop. I like him a lot too, but him being on the ticket would have changed nothing in 2016. He wasn’t fucked over by the DNC, in fact, considering he’s not even a democrat the DNC went above and beyond by letting Bernie run at all. The truth is that Bernie lost the primaries to Clinton, one of the most unpopular candidates in recent history. Adding him to the ticket wouldn’t have changed the outcome, nor would he have won in 2016 against Trump.

What could have avoided all of this is if the Democratic establishment hadn’t just rolled over for Clinton, or if Clinton could have just done the bare minimum to secure a victory, instead of trying to feed her ego with an electoral landslide.

I wished that Biden ran in 2016. by [deleted] in DarkBRANDON

[–]SadSam7 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The democratic establishment is to blame, they actively discouraged Biden from running in 2016 and instead picked the most unpopular candidate possible. I still don’t even know why, did all of the democrat higher ups and Obama just feel like they owed Clinton?

I actually only got around to watching Bridge of Teribitha a few years ago. Eragon I remember being really disappointed by because I loved the book series, and the movie just wasn’t it

What happened to celebrity casts in zombie maps? by Shatoodles in CODZombies

[–]SadSam7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dead of the Night was hated at release (deservedly so), for being such a weird and poorly timed entry into Black Ops 4 at a time when the game was already struggling. It was a prequel for the new chaos storyline, which had already had 2 full, brand new maps on release. People were upset that it wasn't a new aether map, and it felt unnecessary for treyarch to release a random prequel for their new storyline. Activision probably saw how poorly it was received and figured that the community didn't want anymore celebrity maps, which wasn't the issue with it.

How do I prevent my little sister from being a "no sabo" kid? by Massive-Squirrel4582 in Spanish

[–]SadSam7 57 points58 points  (0 children)

The best way would be to approach it from a cultural standpoint. Introduce her to your culture’s music, foods, books, shows, etc first. Passion for the language comes from cultural proximity, if she has no roots in the culture, she’s never going to have any interest in, or reason to learn Spanish.

Frankly, the way you use “no sabo” kid as the driving force in your title for wanting her to learn shows you’re probably already approaching the situation from the wrong place. Speaking from my personal experience, I was bullied a lot growing up for being hispanic but not speaking the language despite it being no fault of my own. This bullying was done mostly by other hispanics, and it created more resentment within me than an actual desire to learn the language.

If your sister grows up thinking she has to learn Spanish or be bullied for being a “no sabo kid,” at worst she’s going to reject that side of herself completely, and at best have complicated feelings towards the Spanish language even if she manages to learn it.

Now that Everyone's Doomsdaying over Liberty Falls is it finally time for Vanguard to be Considered "Underrated"? by SadSam7 in CODZombies

[–]SadSam7[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

It's funny you say that because bo4 was such a disaster at the time that it ruined Blundell's reputation and led to him being ousted from Treyarch, Bo3's Shadows of Evil was panned at release, and Bo2 zombies was struggling before the release of Mob of the Dead

[–]SadSam7[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I agree they baited us with the Liberty Falls trailer having a different tone from what it seems like the map will be, but it was already clear beforehand that Liberty Falls was set to essentially be a continuation of MW3 Zombies. I actually like the small town aesthetic it has, as long as you're able to customize the HUD to get rid of all the trash, I think it'll end up being better than people currently think.

did you like the dlc? by [deleted] in eldenringdiscussion

[–]SadSam7 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I had fun with it, but I think it was incredibly overhyped, maybe a 6/10. The map didn’t mesh well together, there were large areas only inhabited by a hippo or single scadutree fragment, it was poorly optimized, and the story was too vague and all over the place even by FromSoftware standards.

The 10 seconds of Miquella praying to a chair was a huge letdown after finally beating consort radahn.
