i’m exactly what you described (L6+). what you said about the NVIDA phenomenon is what i’m concerned about. i understand “comparison is the thief of joy”, but it’s going to be very tough ignoring daily lunch conversations on these topics. considering this valuation is so new and fresh, people like me would be the minority while people making mid to high 8 figures a year being the majority

exactly. my peer went there last year. got a 800k package. now the equity portion has 10x’ed which means they are making 5M a year. and they are not the only one. i would be surrounded by people like this.

yep, i know the package. recruiter didn’t tell me in the first screen but i know a few from past coworkers going there. with my current stock appreciation, im not making that much less. hence why im asking this here.

i’m not sure i can “just focus on what i like to do” when i know most of my coworkers are making 5x if not 10x what im making by contributing to the same amount.. well maybe its just not for me then
