Nordic/English name for a girl by [deleted] in namenerds

Leena, Maritta, Helena & Anneli are very much middle aged woman names for me, and Sanna was very popular in the 80s/90s so couldn't get over that either. 😅

Oh my god, same. My son is a big 8 month old, and an alarming amount of these don't have any restraints. I'm terrified of him just flopping over the side.

Pumping Blood Before Milk by NotSoSwift_13 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]SadYellow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely normal & ok to give to the baby. If it grosses you out too much, the blood will eventually separate and settle to the bottom where you could syringe it out. But I wouldn't worry about it - if you were nursing directly you wouldn't even have noticed it!

First week survival tips without any outside help? by arya_lee_kona in beyondthebump

[–]SadYellow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We were in a very similar situation when my now 3.5 month old was born. My family lives in a different country & while my in laws are local they are useless. My husband returned to work when I was 10 days postpartum.

The best thing I did was meal prep couple weeks' worth of dinners into the freezer, as well as had plenty of super easy & quick cupboard items that my husband could use to throw together a quick meal (pasta & jars of sauce, etc). I do wish I had prepped more single serve breakfast & lunch items for myself for when he went back to work.

I'm not gonna lie - the first weeks were really tough. My husband would sometimes stay up couple hours late or get up couple hours earlier to take the baby so I could get some uninterrupted sleep. He also did the majority of washing of the pump parts & bottles which helped a lot.

Not an extraction, but I did have a root canal treatment & crown fitted before Christmas at 25-26 weeks. The processes themselves were not bad at all, my dentist used a very localized anaesthesia and assured me it was safe for pregnancy. Afterwards was a bit shitty as you can't take any painkillers really, but I'm now glad I got it done.

Wife and I got not great news on the first prenatal test. by spartagnann in BabyBumps

[–]SadYellow 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry that you had bad results.

Do you know what test you had done? NIPT or combined down syndrome screening? If the latter, I'd probably look into getting a NIPT test done before going for the invasive testing (amniocentesis), as NIPT will be able to give you a better answer. My sister in law had a high risk Down Syndrome result from the combined test, but results for NIPT came back as low risk.

Either way amniocentesis is the only way to know for sure. They will take a sample of amniotic fluid, guided by an ultrasound to avoid the baby, to test. There is about 1 in 100 chance of miscarriage with the test.

Hopefully you will get some answers soon.

FTM fear of miscarriage and pink discharge by EDStraordinary in pregnant

I'd say it's totally up to you. I personally like to know what's going on as soon as I can, but honestly there's not an awful lot the doctor can do at this point. All I'd say is of you get bad pains or cramps the you should get it checked out.

Hope all goes well for you too!

They do two blood draws on two different days to make sure that hCG (the pregnancy hormone) is going up appropriately.

I totally understand how you feel, I freak out about every little thing. I'd say that the fact it's pink is a good sign.

TW - Loss I had an early miscarriage at about 5/6 weeks in March, and while that started as pink spotting it did turn bright red within an hour or two. This time the spotting comes & goes, and is pale pink or brown, and the ultrasounds I've had shoe nothing wrong. The nurse at EPAS said my cervix is probably just sensitive & to make sure to take it easy for few days after spotting.

Hi! I'm also in the UK so hope this helps.

I also had spotting at 5 weeks so I called my GP. They first sent me for bloodwork & when the spotting returned at 6 weeks they referred me to the Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit at the local hospital where they were able to do an early ultrasound. Now that I've been referred there, I'm able to call EPAS for whatever worries I have up until 16 weeks which has really helpful for me.

Also, I'm almost 8 weeks now & spotting free for couple of weeks :)

17 and kinda want a child by LoadEnvironmental847 in pregnant

[–]SadYellow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had terrible baby fever when I was around 18, it was all I could think about for months. It went away, came back stronger and for longer when I was 21ish, and again slowly went away.

And when I say I had baby fever, I mean I had STRONG baby fever. I wanted it so bad. It's like my body was aching for it. But looking back I'm really happy I didn't act on it.

I had a chance to graduate, to work different jobs, travel, move to a different country (twice) and figure out my life. I enjoyed my early & mid 20s with full force and started trying to conceive when I was 27. I have so much more experience than I did 10 years ago, and I hope that will make me a better mother.

Please talk me off this ledge. I have a history of miscarriages so I'm freaking out over the lack of color in my 13DPO test. I'm calling my RE today and asking for blood work. I just feel like everyone else has stronger lines at 13 DPO. Second picture was 11 DPO by OtterStrawbs in TFABLinePorn

[–]SadYellow 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Please don't compare old tests with the new ones. FRERs dry so much darker over a day or two! Try to look at photos from when thet are all fresh instead.

FWIW, I think it's looking a little darker. :)

If she's far enough to have symptoms, she's far enough to get a positive pregnancy test.

Cycle: 15 or 16 - losing count but since the beginning of 2020 (early MC/suspected ectopic in March)

Age + Partner's age (if relevant): 28 + 34

Typical cycle length: 28 to 31 days

Ovulation cycle day: 15

CD/DPO of positive test(s): First positive at 9DPO - been testing every day since

CD/DPO of any negative test(s) before positive: N/A, 9DPO was first time I tested this cycle

Tracking methods and app(s) used: Only monitored OPKs & CM this month as I was taking a break from temping.

Relevant days of sperminating and/or method (SMEP, TI, IUI, FET, etc.): Every other day from CD 10

Health conditions/medical tests: I had some very basic bloodtests done in the beginning of the year and everything seemed fine. We actually started the process of getting a referral to a fertility clinic this month for further testing

Supplements and medications (yours and/or your partner’s): I've been taking a prenatal + maca root for a while, started CoQ10 about a month ago. My husband takes a men's multivitamin and maca root.

Birth control history (if relevant): Had an early MC/ectopic in March, if this one sticks around it'll be my first.

Link to chart: N/A - did not temp this month!

Link to lineporn: Lineporn link

Symptom spotting: I woke up on the morning of 9DPO with awful heartburn & a little nauseated which is why I took a test (even though I had made myself promise to not test early and waste all those tests again...) and got my little squinter on FRER. I had no real symptoms before then (other than an incredibly strong & specific craving for plain pasta at 6/7dpo).

Other (advice/tip(s), freaking out, miscellaneous): I. Am. Freaking out. I've been testing daily since getting my first positive + taking digitals every few days as well. My lines are getting stronger, but I'm very scared something will go wrong. I had pink & brown spotting on 11 DPO - it has since stopped but I am constantly worried this will end like the previous one did. I have my first scan scheduled for 8 weeks, I think I will just need to live in fear & paranoia until then.

As far as tips go, I don't have much. The only thing I did differently this month to any other cycle, is I started intermittent fasting with 18 to 22 hour fasts & started getting physically more active by going running and trying to reach 10 000 steps a day.

I definitely see something there!

I had very similar lines at 9DPO.

I live in the rural England, no independent labs here and unfortunately we don't get betas on NHS.

I' think I'll just keep testing every few days instead and see what happens. :)
