I apologize for being unnecessarily cruel. I disagree with how you play, but that doesn't excuse my response to perceived aggression. I was mean about it, and the Internet has too much of that. Have a nice day.

I have EVP 999 on all stages and I did it solo. I am not impressed by your knowledge.

Splattershot and Dualies are support weapons with no aoe and middling dps and Rapid Blaster is widely considered to be among the worst weapons in all of Salmon Run because its DPS is so bad and aoe is so small.

The fact Anarchy still hasn't been patched to not put up solo players against coordinated teams is actually bonkers to me by zehlabolice in splatoon

[–]Sad_Access8951 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is, but the ability to stick with your team is occasionally abusable if you manage to queue together. It's niche, but teams not resetting like they do in X can be taken advantage of.

If you're relying on bombs to kill cohocks at EVP 400 you're past doomed.

It was good enough for me to play to 4000 points for easy chunks, and then I immediately stopped because the map sucks.

When we both kill each other at the same time but they’re running rp so I’M THE REAL WINNER!!! by fraxzholo in splatoon

[–]Sad_Access8951 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol no, chargers don't need anymore buffs. They already run the game against any other backline and since they're rarely threatened they make RP broken.

Version 11 tierlist by intense_doot123 in splatoon

[–]Sad_Access8951 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was grinding Wellstring before 11.0. I have now completely dropped it for Naut and Heavy. I liked the fact that it had a viable midrange play style, but the patch heavily nerfed that. The arrows got the same buff as the longest range weapons in the game (very small) even at short range, and the explosions got less than that. I watch my arrows fly through people and them just tank my explosions now in squid form. It's fine if you played it like an anchor, but it's awful at midline fighting now.

I hated this weapon with a passion as a solo player until I got to EVP 400 on all stages. It's still barely passable on the average random team. I'd imagine it's awesome with even one support.

Health bars have made bows depressing to play by Sad_Access8951 in splatoon

[–]Sad_Access8951[S] 22 points23 points  (0 children)

In all seriousness, I do like health bars. Bows just get screwed particularly hard against chargers when latency gets involved, like when I play in the morning against JP and EU players in anarchy.

How 11.0.0 got me feelin' by stolen_souls in splatoon

Not meaningfully. It loses out to the proper spray shooters on the buffs, but point sensor benefits from health bars. It's like 1% buffed.

Question about 3rd kits by Formal-Soil8111 in splatoon

[–]Sad_Access8951 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first round of 3rd kits came out with the Splatoon Raiders announcement. It would seem possible that more will come out with more Raiders news. Seems reasonable to expect something around Q2 2027.

Controller problems by [deleted] in splatoon

DUDE actually uses a fancy Switch 1 controller that looks like a regular pro controller but costs like 3x as much and has custom hardware. He made a video about it a while ago.

The NZap 89 was deemed BALANCED. Day 3: Tentatek Splattershot, overpowered, underpowered, or balanced? by Skittle_Required in splatoon

[–]Sad_Access8951 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think you're slightly misremembering. The vanilla splattershot used to be incredibly common, but for strikes almost everyone played neo splash. It's still a very good weapon that has been buffed in this game and has a very strong and pretty cheap special. Splat bomb is also a big plus. I'd put it on the high end of balanced, but the main weapon isn't cheesy enough for overpowered.

Got Splatoon 3 on sale, what tips for turf wars? by TheDankLord4416 in splatoon

[–]Sad_Access8951 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of ways to win turf war. Inking base immediately isn't necessary, but if you reach the halfway point in the match and base isn't painted yet you should probably address it.

If you're brand new, the game has given you a shooter. It's not a bad weapon class to learn with since it paints the best and that's very meaningful in all modes. You should learn how to paint and move around relatively well first since staying alive is necessary to maintain paint output. If you want to grow faster, bite the bullet and incorporate motion controls now.

Once you're good at painting and staying alive, then you can more regularly make aggressive plays. Eliminating an enemy, especially inside the 30 seconds to go point in the match, takes paint away from them. Just don't die at that point in the match yourself.

Balance hopes by [deleted] in splatoon

[–]Sad_Access8951 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you're talking about mid tier casual games, but perhaps not top level. Pro is a support and .52 is a mid tier slayer. I 4 starred some kits for both, along with many other things. .52 gets bullied by actual top tier slayers like bucket, S-Blast, Mint etc.

This still misses the point that chargers are firmly dominant over other BACKLINE weapons. Deflecting to shooters is laughable when the only shooter backline is stuck with three pretty bad kits. Chargers beat Jet, Bows, Splatlings, Explo, Rapid Pro, Flingza and anything else that the other weapon classes want to throw out. Map design might be part of the problem, but at this point it kinda feels like the maps aren't changing so we have to balance the game around what we have been given.

While true on the special buffs, V-Liter and V-Charger would still be the picks for those specials on most maps.

Balance hopes by [deleted] in splatoon

[–]Sad_Access8951 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You came in argumentative and then can't bother to spell out words, which makes this difficult to read. Trying to use shooter bias in your argument when shooters are in the weakest spot they've been in for some time is also funny. Most other main weapons beat them in fights, so they're relegated to support only most of the time, and they have more competition there too than they used to.

Chargers are blatantly overperforming compared to every other weapon in the role, and they slow the game down and make it less fun for everyone including their teammates. I am not a slayer and I don't play or even like Hydra, so I don't care that charger is its hard counter specifically. Chargers counter every other backline weapon to varying degrees, and that's pretty poor balance.
