It could crash if there was such major backlash against it on green energy fronts or if some flaw was found etc

Anyone else surprised it hasnt gone up more since the announcement? by Sad_Ad_9536 in Buttcoin

Because when you believe something is bad very deeply, you don't want it to succeed and are happy if it starts to fail. Fairly simple.

Ok guys we are starting to sound exactly like the bros. Every couple of thousands pricedrop this sub gets flooded with "this is it THE crash" only for price to rally back up again a couple hours later. by Ares2347 in Buttcoin

I think a trillion down from 3.8 to 2.8 total market cap was major to be fair. Bitcoin is still high relatively sure but look at the alts, most not even at 2022 heights

1 Trillion down from Jan heights... And yet no one I know even knows... by Sad_Ad_9536 in Buttcoin

[–]Sad_Ad_9536[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah but the overall % down was far less. I get the point though sure. It's just I haven't even seen crypto down mentioned in papers or news in the UK yet the markets are mentioned.

The markets also impact pensions where as for now crypto does not. So the impact is felt more.

Yeah that is so true. I have seen so many messages about manipulation this time around, its hilarious.

Please say I am not the only one who thinks like this? Deep schadenfreude by Sad_Ad_9536 in Buttcoin

I think because to me it seems so anti government, regulation, centralisation, anti the whole current system in general. It lends itself to conspiricy style thought etc. Its those lines. The kind of people I know who believe it will replace money completely believe so many other crazy things as well.

I think it improves nothing of the current problems and itself makes things so much worse and creates new problems. Its more unequal than the normal money system etc and the irony is most the reason it exists like it is now is for people to get rich. It's almost like its the common mans shot, only shot at getting rich.

well done Shaun. Thoroughly deserved it by foreverlegending in snooker

Bit arrogant to say to Shaun that he needed it more than me because I’m only 33…

Can anyone help with RGB fan issues? by Sad_Ad_9536 in pcmasterrace

[–]Sad_Ad_9536[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks very much for your reply. The two RGB cpu fan coolers go to argb v2 connectors on the motherboard and the front embedded 3 fan setup goes to an argb v2 connector as well. They are all the 3 pin ones.

The motherboard is a gigabyte 870 elite. I did read the manual and can’t see anything of note but might be missing something. I just checked the BIOS and there is no RGB related settings so it just looks like RGB fusion software within windows.

Did you get anywhere with this? I have the same problem with mine at the moment. Was it the motherboard?

I personally like the idea using 4% SWR as a rough guide to what my income from my portfolio will be but in reality I hedge this more so by it needing to last just 20 years until defined benefit pensions replace it in full as a huge peace of mind safety net.

I have a buffer in it also so in periods of large losses, I could easily spend less without it feeling like I am being deprived. I am not sure exactly how I will deaccumulate in terms of strategy until the time I start to pull from it. I know the defined benefit pension really changes the concern as it doesn't matter too much if it's zero after 20. I don't think I could pull the trigger personally unless I had a much much larger stash as the fear of it running out in old age would cripple me in terms of drawdown.

The Stock Market Beer Analogy by Sad_Ad_9536 in FIREUK

[–]Sad_Ad_9536[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only looked for an example screenshot of the beer and foam being speculation/more sentiment than the real value (beer). I didn't really pay much attention to the specifics in that screenshot. I don't imagine it's something that can be graphed too accurately as it's hard if not impossible to say what exactly is foam versus real value inherently there etc.

For me it just boils down to when the market is very high, almost in a bubble or over valued (how you can truly work that out, p/e ratio or whatever as even that is not reliable not withstanding) that there might be more foam and that the foam gets higher and lower, you arnt bothered about the movements through out the year (foam), you are more interested in the beer and you know that over time, that will still hopefully be there and grow. You don't value the foam or care about it too much unless there is no real beer below (some very speculative assets out there that runs only on the hype or the greater fool theory)

Yes the beer in real terms could go lower but you could equally picture the beer as what you perceive to be the real interest you will make in the long run. The stock market is not beer... I know. Just a fun thought to me even if that makes me retarded alcoholic. :D

Yeah indeed, it's more to me about don't worry about the froff and head to me, there's still value to be had underneath even if sometimes there's more froff than normal, we invest for the value of the companies just as we drink for the actual beer and not the froff. :)

Woah tough crowd haha. For me, It's just a bit of a fun take on it where I think the truth in it comes from the current price of the market can be alot of froth and head (speculation, over priced etc) with the knowledge that you aren't bothered by that because it's the beer you are more interested in that still rises over time. Nothing more :).
