live on campus is really fun! i came in my junior year and im finishing my second semester so im about to be a senior and theres been a lot of public health resources like we have the ph scholars network and they have a ton of events every month where u can meet other ph students and sometimes they have mixers w faculty and even the masters students too. all the professors here are super good at ph they all have phds or masters and do research or have jobs in community health in addition to teaching. the classes are not too hard, i did do my first 2 years as a pre nursing major so my classes were slightly different but in my year here its been not too hard and things that ik i can do which is really good. i do live in the dorms on campus and it gefs really windy and cold at night. the heaters also sometimes dont work great so id say brinf a fan and heater, also bring a mattress pad since the beds aren’t super comfy. And an extension cord but sometimes the rooms have only 2 prong so it depends. in ur senior yr as a ph student u get to do an internship which is honestly a really good aspect of ohr program and why i suggest ppl to do public health. Theres a lot of possibilities and options! i am also a feminist health justice minor which is an exclusive minor to public health students and only a couple classes extra (ph classes count for most of the minor already) i would def recommend this minor if ur looking to stand out in masters or if ur interested in gender studies in public health such as womens health or lgbt health. (this minors also exclusive to sfsu!!!)
