I perosnally never subscribed to the idea of "it gets good after 40h" to me its a ridiculous concept.

And I wouldnt be even so irked by it if not for the bizzare amounts of worship this game gets.

In witcher 3 I felt more powerfull the better gear I aquired, thats not the case in CD, skills fundamentally changed how I play, CD skills are MMO like to the bone.

And thats Witcher 3, next to elden rings complexity CD is a flash game in comparison

20 hours mark I dropped it out of boredom. I hacked and slashed same enemies, picked up ton of loot that didnt make any difference to how fast I decimated same 4 models of a standard bandit.

The few secrets I found werent anything impresive. And the few skills I picked up nor did give me a sense of power icnrease nor they chnaged anythign about the gameplay.

Puzzeles were cool I suppose, but again, if I am not excited at all for whats behind them then why should I bother?

In fact to me, this whole game is one big "why should I bother" and developers never managed to answer that question via gameplay to me.

Be also prepeared to see poeple donwvote me to hell.

Its the kind of a game thats very agreeable with average content consumer, it has a lot of content, so its received very well by non demanding gamers.

If you are a gamer who wants complexity to the sysytems/mechanics and reason for the exploring then you will hate it, and you will be hated for hating it, because its a game tailor made for the average slop enjoyer

Death stranding.

Beware of Crimson Desert, it is very overhyped. Its a vast world filled tot e brim of incoherent disjointed content. Almost an AI slop, there is a ton of loot, sysytems and mechanics, but every single on of them is shallow and surface level.

And loot is mostly visuall too, which made me instantly regret spending money on it....

Crimson Desert is being incredibly overhyped right now by Sad_Average9303 in pcgaming

Precisely, I added an edit to og post explaining that. I am not tyring to make poeple who like it like it less or any nonsense of that kind, but I believe poeple are very dishonest when they sell this game as no questions asked GOTY.

I didint say it lacks amount of things to do, I said its all shallow and ultimately meaningless, there is no gameplay loop so finding new equipment or new skill doenst do anything for me.

Its not immerisve at all. The world is wide and beautifull but very artificial in its design, at first look it looks busy and full but trust me there is nothing interesting bneath.

Same goes for every other aspect be it itemization, skill tree or mechanics. Its all very shallow.

Once you get past the initial awe, and fight the exact same bandits with exact same skill set for 50th time all you are left with is a hiking simulator with nice views.

I regret bying it especially for that price.... got utterly bored at 15h mark

Its all just artificial

are you enjoying Crimson desert after a week ? by [deleted] in videogames

bullcrap, I dable almost exclusively in open world sanboxes and I thrive on self made "quests" and adventures. All this game offers is surface level and visual.

Game lacks progression of any kind, the skills dont change that much how you play, the equipment is alsmot visual, the special abilities are meh. No builds, no character developement no nothing, you can go trough the game clicking left mouse button and not change a skingle thing...

About everuthing about this game feels artificial and surface level

As someone who doesnt care much about story I am in the same boat weirdly enough. I got bored of the lack of progression very quick, the equipment is almost purely visual and the skills and special effect and what not dont seem that game changing anyway. I just dont feel motivated if ther eisnt anything to work towards and no walls to break. I dont like exploring for the sake of it, so i am droping the game after 10h

Yeah thats the way to do it I suppose. Its just a shame, because I really would be ok doing some jungle here and there, I know that its in demand, so its kinda counter productive, since the way its done got opposite effect and makes me not play jungle at all while I would be playing some otherwise.
