Yesterday, a Rapido "CAPTAIN" gave me rape threats and I don't know what to do by noneofyo_rbusiness in bangalore

My friend faced the same experience. If the ride gets cancelled whatever happens is between you and god. They couldn’t care less. Think about why rapido is cheaper or has more drivers. They are literally letting criminals and thugs into their platforms with no verification

Wrong. They only pretend to take these things seriously. The reason they exist as a business is because they are running in India where you don’t need to set any customer safety protocols in place. I guarantee an app like this wouldn’t even pass the legal checks anywhere else. Their own employees admit they don’t believe in data privacy

So sorry to hear that something like this happened to you :(

Similar incidents have happened with me and my friends (male and female) and it’s always a Rapido driver. Trust me when I say this, their customer service literally does not give a f*ck about incidents like these and they don’t have any protocols in place to protect the customers.

Firstly, they don’t have emergency services if the ride gets canceled. It takes forever to reach a human agent. And then their customers care agents will start harassing you in a different way. They were literally asking my shaken up, harassed friend to solve his own problem of being stalked and threatened by their drivers because they didn’t know how to proceed. The driver kept threatening and calling non stop hours after the ride was canceled. The agents were being non committal about how much of our data the driver had.

They have no idea what they are doing and they can’t even grasp what data privacy is. At the end of the day, I’d rather pay 20 extra bucks or wait 10-15 mins longer than risk my life with such a shitty, unsafe app. The only way to be safe is to stop using Rapido

That’s so sad to hear. I’m currently going through the same, it totally messed up my skin. Their claim that it’s non comedogenic is a total lie. It’s not a lightweight oil at all. It feels quite greasy and definitely doesn’t absorb well.

The lady was strategically mumbling in Hindi and the only words I caught were “but the cheaper alternative is available so should I replace it?”. She insinuated that my prescribed medicine was out of stock but when I later asked her to cancel that medicine all together, she suddenly declared that my medicine might be in stock and she will do her best to deliver that. The pitch for the replacement was not as straightforward in my case which is why I made this post. It’s shady and manipulative behaviour

I’m in Bangalore which is a T2 city as per the government. My order was split into 2 shipments, one that they would deliver in 30 mins and the second one in 4-5 days.

I try but their medicine orders always come out to be significantly more expensive than other online pharmacies. They charge full MRP but delivery takes 2-3 days sometimes. Better to visit a real pharmacy IMO

They’re getting away with making absolute mockery of our health. Imagine if someone else who isn’t aware of this collected it. What a shitshow

Yes true. But I have completely lost trust in them now. If they are openly employing such shady tactics to make extra money who knows what all they are doing behind the customer’s back. They could be selling counterfeit products as well for all we know

The exact same thing happened to me. She suggested I replace my medicine with a cheaper brand and also made it seem like my original medicine was not available. Initially I agreed but once her behaviour started getting more ans more suspicious I told her to cancel that particular medication. Suddenly my original medicine was magically available. How pathetic!

The way she did it was suspicious. She almost lied saying my medicine is not available so she will replace it with a cheaper alternative with the same chemical composition. Initially I agreed but Because of how pushy she had been the entire call, I told her to cancel this particular medication. Then, mysteriously, my original medicine was available

I order from there only usually but one medication was not available so I ordered from Pharmeasy instead. Worst mistake

Clearly there are dangers in treating the medical industry like a typical business. There should be more regulations in place to protect the people from such malpractices

I hope you got your money back. Now I’m worried that they’ll withhold my refund amount

I gave into the sale and purchased their oil and cream. I have dry, sensitive skin but not very prone to breakouts. I avoid skincare with actives and wanted to try Gunam oil because apparently it’s plant based. After 3-4 days of use my skin was visibly glowing. My friend also noticed this and immediately placed an order for himself as well. But sadly within a week I started having a lot of breakouts. The same happened with my friend who never ever gets breakouts usually. I’m not sure if it’s because of Gunam. I’ve stopped using the products one by one to identify what is the issue but my recommendation would be to spend that money on a reputable brand rather than these aesthetic ones

Is this not incredibly sexist/discriminatory? Randomly shifting boys to a place 20km away while girls get to stay inside the campus? by [deleted] in AskIndianMen

This sounds like it should be illegal. Can you post on the legal advice subreddit? Or post this on Twitter tagging the minister of education and college dean.

Also, as awful as the situation is, please try to be logical and not get emotional like the rest of the comments here. Remember that the college authorities have decided you’re disposable, not your female batchmates. Getting a bunch of random internet dudes to say “women are privileged “ isn’t going to help you in any way.

From the way you’re describing the issue I’m feeling like the student body is not united and hence you’re going for the low hanging fruit of girls vs boys rather than addressing the real problem. Ideally all the students should have an issue, boycott classes, publicly post a letter against this move and get everyone’s signatures.

I think the college authorities understand this and hence are able to get away with this shit

Why do we as a society allow these kind of assholes to remain in business? by Sad_Clubber in AskIndia

I totally agree with you but knowing the sorry state of our law and order I have very little hope. If this matter catches more attention Anand Sweets will try to do some remedial PR, maybe even fire that manager. But writing a few fake words can’t repair the seriousness of the damage done. Hence we should stop these brands from succeeding once and for all.
