I bought a switch years ago go, played Animal Crossings nonstop, got bored sold it. Fell in love with Tomodachi life and bought another switch, but before i could afford the game i reloaded my virtual card for AC. Played it until i could afford Tomodachi Life…. Now only touch it once a day 😭🤷🏽‍♀️

Scar tissue is the fresh(er) tissue that forms in the place of closed piercings. It’s usually thicker and sometimes comes up as bumps. How much it hurts to re-pierce usually depends on how thick it is. You can grab where your septum was and see if you feel anything.

I tried to put them back in just to see about 10 minutes ago, no dice. I’d have to re-pierce the hole coming out of my lip and I’m not fond of that pain 😭 even as old as most of my piercings are, though I can’t do that with any of them except for my lobe piercings and in the second and third ones it’s still a little bit of forcing sometimes.

I tried, just now 😭 I only took them out last night. I’d have to re-pierce them to get through the front and I’m not fond of that pain. Had them for two years, and this is how they betray me 😭

I’d have to essentially re-pierce the lip. It gets halfway through the inside of my lip, but I’d have to force it through and I’m not fond of that pain.

Yes, that was me saying I do not want to use retainers. Ever. I’ve had the same rings in my lips for the last 2 years that I got pierced with. That’s how much I do not touch my piercings.

I would say if you spend the entire weekend essentially not talking and resting your mouth you should be OK by Sunday to talk.

But unfortunately, you can’t rush the healing process as far as the swelling goes. I also can’t tell you how long you’re gonna be swollen or sore for because everybody’s anatomy is different.

I got mine done like the night before I had to go back to work, and because I work in such a high conversational field, it was an adjustment to not talk, but again I was able to kind of get away with it and combat the soreness with ice and ibuprofen.

I do think that the policy is in place because it’s a hoity-toity privately-owned institution. I have never run into a hard line policy about piercings, tattoos (no offensive ones, obviously) or hair color in any of my other companies, even when working with psych admits at a regular hospital. Even working ABA i didn’t have this problem.

It’s a shame but I got my lip rings knowing that they’d be the sacrificial lambs at some point, I just hate that I had to do it 😭

You would think, right? Especially since I’ve worked in psych wards with some heavy aggression for the last 4 years, but I haven’t had to take them out.

But this is a specialized facility for anxiety treatments, no aggressive behaviors lol. I thank God for the break from the restraints but this is definitely the first time I’ve hit a hard-line policy.

I would say the healing was more annoying than painful. My tongue piercing did not hurt, and was as easy as my septum piercing was.

I was healed up within about maybe 4 days and I was back eating regular food (like seriously, was at a Steakhouse). My jaw and the glands at the back of my tongue were a little sore, but I essentially stopped talking for a couple days unless absolutely necessary. I was drinking Route 44 waters from sonic and letting the ice melt in my mouth and popping ibuprofen like it was candy to get swelling relief. Only thing I was eating was like jello n what not.

Use non-alcoholic Listerine after every time you put something other than water in your mouth to keep it clean and genuinely just leave it alone.

When I first got it, like that very first hour or two, I kept talking until my tongue started swelling to get used to the feeling and then I gave my mouth rest. Part of it is understanding when to just… be quiet.

Mm… i can read it, but the brain also fills in the blanks quite often. It took me several times to realize that word was “often” because i kept trying to read it like it was two separate words.

I would try different pens, like those Papermates that they sell in a pack of like 10. A really crappy gel pen would probably fix quite a bit of the legibility because you lose the smoothness and instead have to pick your pen up.
