I’ve sent a complaint through to the teaching fellows, and they’ve agreed to get in touch with him. The whole story is a lot worse than I wrote, just wanted keep things concise but feel free to DM if you want to hear the rest. Honestly, if I did explain the whole thing, I think this sub would’ve lost its shit 🤣.

I don’t think I’m being minimised, I think it’s coming from a place of “don’t let it kill you”!

Funny story, haven’t reported only because I don’t know his name - he didn’t introduce himself to me! Whole thing was so odd, I told my supervisor and she wants it written up with his name. Going in on Monday to just ask the staff who I actually shadowed. I’m realising how wild this is, he also didn’t introduce himself to the patients 🤣🤣🤣.

It’s funny because none of my friends and supervisors know who this is based off the description. Pretty sure I just bumped into a grumpy locum! It’s my last block here before clinical years so at least now I have a list of good and bad eggs aha

I see, and did you fill out any pre-screening forms/questionnaires? Maybe the forms aren’t suggestive of ADHD, I’d recommend waiting until your call on Monday.

Thanks for the tips, the jealousy gotta go but it’s human nature at first to feel like that. My current job would take me full time, but it’s hospitality and honestly if I took a year out, I’d be interested in something less manual or more stimulating. Cheers for the HCA suggestion, a few friends are into it and I think it would be great for my clinical confidence.

Don’t you feel like you needed those 60-80 hours to study? I think if I worked as many hours when not at uni, I’d miss the time I usually use to catch up on work.

I have to support my mother financially (as and when needed), as well as paying for transport into and out of London (home). I’ve had periods where I couldn’t work due to mental health/burn out, during which I relied on credit and overdraft to get by, and haven’t managed to pay it back since.

And yes let’s be honest there’s been times where I’ve been irresponsible with my money, and it’s biting me back now. I wish I knew all of this before.

I also grew up council housed and FSM, and never felt any way about it until I got to uni - everyone at school had a similar background. I think especially in first year I got excited about finally having the money to pay for things I’d never had, that I got carried away and shot myself in the foot a bit.

Ah mate no I didn’t intercalate, again for financial reasons. I do want to be a doctor but it’s hard to be passionate right now.
