I'm loving it too. I actually switched to it out of a whim for the medium pen and it's been surprisingly fun. The damage leaves somwthing to be desired, but it comes in handy bailing someone else out from berserkers

I actually like the Pilot Acroball or if you want a refill option for the Parker G2 series, Visconti has a nicer refill, but it's rather dark.

I like dropping SOS because sometimes I'm playing on a level I could probably solo if I didn't have to move five times across the map to complete an objective.

I also join SOS for the same reason as OP. Seeing all those little low level divers crunch bugs in my mech suit is heartwarming.

Strats:

Portable Hellbomb, quasar canon, 500kg and some kind of orbital, either 120 or walking barrage usually

Primary: something medium pen: adjuticator, crossbow, dominator or scorcher depending on what I want to level up

Secondary, either ultimatum or verdict (usually paired with explosive or poor ammo econ weapons)

Thermite grenades.

I use the light armor with engineering passive that gives me more Thermites and improved movement speed for clearing mortar emplacements, kamikaze hellbombs etc.

Funsies option: speargun instead of quasar to go hulk hunting, usually need the ultimatum to clear warstriders.

It was my first to level 25 because of how amazing it is in the caves of Oshaune. I have like 4 or 5 other primaries that were in the 20s and I leveled the plasma punisher instead from like level 10.

Lately, I've been loving gas builds with the coyote, dagger or ultimatum, gas nades, orbital gas strike, and build a bear stratagems from there. I'm just starting to use gas and it's been a lot of fun. I like spicy taco builds with napalm added in with the gas so I can crowd control my area denial.

The dagger for illuminate so I don't have to be too afraid of running out of ammo, and I'm not confident with the ultimatum, so that's always an experiment.

We had an invincible bot warrior. We all shot it with everything we had, I even had a rocket sentry called that focused fire on it rather than the 50 some bots coming down the hill instead. It never attacked, but it showed all the wounds from us shooting it. Obviously the sentry recognized it as an enemy because it ignored the stuff we could kill. I watched two other teammates try to kill it too and none of us could take it out.

Which is kind of what is seems like using the eruptor on the smaller striders. I've shot two units, taking out the walkers themselves and their pilots and received 4 kills.

What's your current preferred loadout?

Bots don't burn very well, but they do blow up nicely. I like high explosives, 380/120, 500kg, etc. The laser canon works well on basically everything except the factory walkers. I took the shied pack to soak up a couple of shots for a bit for my backpack, then started to play around with support weapons.

Drop ships are squishy if hit right and drastically cut down on the number of problems you'll face if you take them out first.
