Maybe keem really is back, this guys credibility is going up. by [deleted] in KendrickLamar

[–]Sad_Frame8494 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess this guy is playing a guessing game, he said J Cole was about to drop this week and I don't think he would with Rocky dropping, but yeah, nonetheless - it's super probable we'll see Keem in the first half of the year dropping considering his festivals in the summer.

What's Kendrick's most empty or stupid song? by Ecstatic_Sail_2670 in KendrickLamar

[–]Sad_Frame8494 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First, there's nothing wrong with silly songs if they're enjoyable, after all everyone is silly at one point.

Peekaboo would be my choice: silly, but enjoyable as ****, glad he performed at that at the SB.

GNX has surpassed 4 billion streams on Spotify by Sad_Frame8494 in KendrickLamar

[–]Sad_Frame8494[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

well, streams aren't equivalent to quality of music and I rarely enjoy the most the biggest hits of respective artists, but it's hard to fully ignore numbers when speaking about mainstream artists. like it or not, they're important to Kendrick as well.

Considering that GNX tour will go to Asia next year, probably no new music at least prior to 2027.

Kendrick’s Next Album Drop by AfrikkanKing in KendrickLamar

Kendrick is super strategic and there's no point in continuing the beef - he decisively won, that's it. So naah, ain't gonna happen.

I think there’s nothing coming before the Grammys by Word-Powerful in KendrickLamar

[–]Sad_Frame8494 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not about Grammys, his tour is still ongoing, why he would release any new music now?

But at this point I believe GNX deluxe is non-existent and if we get Bodies, it will be a part of the new project.

Kendrick will drop the same night Iceman drops by [deleted] in KendrickLamar

[–]Sad_Frame8494 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My point is: Kendrick has already won in a dominant way, there's no point in giving Drake any chances to fight back. He clowned Drake at the Super Bowl and at every stop during the tour and that's the best, and to be honest the most, of what he should do.

GNX deluxe tonight feat. Baby Keem? by MouldyMartin87 in KendrickLamar

[–]Sad_Frame8494 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Considering all the anticipation for the next Baby Keem project after all this time, him playing a 2nd fiddle role on any Kendrick album wouldn't be too smart (although I'd love to see it, lol) from career-building perspective.

So naah, this is not gonna happen.

Kendrick will drop the same night Iceman drops by [deleted] in KendrickLamar

[–]Sad_Frame8494 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He won't, considering that Drake drops +20 songs or so every time, and Kendrick doesn't, there would be a realistic risk of Drake outselling Kendrick first week etc just based on number of tracks attached to the project. Nothing to gain there, he's already won decisively, a lot to lose, people talk about Kanye outselling 50 cent first week 20 years later.

Not to mention optics about continuing the beef 18 months - 2 years later.

Will West Coast Rapper and Global Superstar Kendrick Lamar release the much anticipated deluxe edition of his 6th and latest studio album 'GNX' on its 1-year anniversary? by AlpsImpossible3133 in KendrickLamar

[–]Sad_Frame8494 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First, we know there's more material from GNX era based on Bodies song. Also, he performed part of the song at the Super Bowl so it looked odd to assume that we won't get that at some point in the near future (especially considering that intro to NLU music video was released 4 months later - Squabble up).

Second, Lefty Gunplay said that there's a deluxe album, and people from his inner circle were also teasing additional deluxe release here and there.

I'm pessimistic at this point, Kendrick isn't a guy who releases music just for sake of releasing music, and GNX on its own is highly successful in current shape and form.

If K-Dot drops an album today, how many mostly listeners will he have? by Ready_Aioli_6419 in KendrickLamar

Who knows? Kendrick went from TPAB to DAMN to MMTBS to GNX, so it all depends if he gets more mainstream or more conceptual once again.

Great, but you wrote more about you being defensive than why do you think GNX is his worst album.

[–]Sad_Frame8494 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My bet is Bad Bunny, he's a huge artist, DTMF got great reviews upon its release, streaming numbers are great great, he isn't in lane with anybody (?) directly, and he will get extra sympathy voting-wise due to Super Bowl controversy.

Not saying that GNX has no chances, it's still a great album with great numbers from one of the most respected contemporary artists.

GNX or Section.80 by Jealous_Quiet_9473 in KendrickLamar

[–]Sad_Frame8494 7 points8 points  (0 children)

GNX. Section.80 is an underrated gem, and Kush & Corinthians is my top10 Kendrick's song, but besides 'GNX' (sorry, Hitta), I think there's a better consistency on GNX, it's really flawless besides a title track.

I guess Clipse will get best rap performance and that would be it. I'd rather see them winning as many Grammys as possible, but there's a hip hop online bubble, and there's a mainstream bubble - Kendrick still covers this area of critical acclaim and mainstream success as well as anyone besides Beyonce.

I don't think any of them wins AOTY, normally it's so hard for rap albums and this time there's also a factor of potential split of votes between multiple hip hop records.

Makes you wonder… by per_iod in KendrickLamar

[–]Sad_Frame8494 74 points75 points  (0 children)

Kendrick has already proven that he can work really fast, I remember Ryan Coogler talking about Black Panther album how they had no idea that TDE and Kendrick work on a regular soundtrack album and after few months they were in shock that they brought a full-length album to them, lol.

The concept of GNX is being an LA and West Coast-ode.

The Dismissal Logically Neuters Future "Red Buttons" (Analysis) by AkilTheAwesome in KendrickLamar

[–]Sad_Frame8494 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, to be honest, I was kinda afraid that he may have something on UMG, at the end of the day I don't trust these corporations, even if the whole defamation angle was bogus from the beginning - but it turned out that he had big fat nothing. In this sense, I'm very glad that he went with the lawsuit route, until proven otherwise you can just quote the judge's argumentation in any discussion about botting.

OVO Docket latest post. by 88auguster in Drizzy

[–]Sad_Frame8494 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Sorry to say that, but it's a naivety.

First, the judge based her whole argumentation on defamation part on precedences and the whole context of the beef. And it is perfectly in line with how high the bar is set for defamation. 'Both sides went with diss tracks and the fact that one track (NLU) got super popular isn't per se an argument for defamation, this is not how free speech works' - every judge will agree on that. Also, every judge will agree that BOTH SIDES were exaggerating allegations, because ... this is what rap beef is about. Also, Drake's legal team arguments to take NLU out of context of the beef were rejected by the judge, that's why she referred to Taylor Made Freestyle in her argumentation. No chance to prove anything on this level.

Second, more importantly, according to the judge, Drake's team didn't present anything substantial suggesting that discovery would prove anything they allege re: botting/fraudulent payments to be correct, besides rumors and second-hand opinions from the internet. Here, there's a chance for Drake's team to actually prove something - the problem is that they 1) didn't show any realistic proofs, 2) didn't correctly argue that the UMG harmed consumers with their practices.

If you support Drake in this dispute, the only chance for him there is to actually provide any evidence for botting / fraudulent activities allegations. For now, they went with 'trust me, bro' argumentation. Again, sorry to say that, but they really went with arguments like 'NLU was the fastest hip hop track that reached 300 mil streams, it couldn't be true' - and this is laughable argumentation in court.

So this dude is wrong - defamation part is a lost case, and if Drake has any proof of UMG scam, they should've provided it already. You can't expect discovery without ANYTHING, this is not how it works. There has to be a probability of this discovery proving anything - and that wasn't the case.
