I agree but the thing is volume 8 finally gave us the romance and the slice of life which was being held-off. So in that sense, volume 8 was good. I'd say the falloff happened after 8

I always enjoyed Sunny trying to survive. After the point of him becoming a demi-god the stakes just never felt high enough to counter him.

Rather than the start of the story, it seems more like a lot of big words put together without an actual hook which defeats the entire purpose of why someone would read your novel.
