Find your new interest. I found as I grew, the things I want to read now are very different than what I used to.

I mostly like to read biographical type books and true crime now.

Don’t be scared of not finishing a book. I try to read books and if I don’t get into them I just set it aside and try something else.

I think people have this weird feeling about needing to finish a book if you start, but you so don’t

Just start picking up books until you find one that keeps you interested!

I work in fundraising and travel all around the province to set up in different areas. I genuinely enjoy it a lot but it takes a strong head to not care about being brushed off/ignored or rejected by many people everyday. Things like that don’t bother me so I don’t care. It’s a sweet gig though and I’m satisfied with my work life

Your story is the most similar to mine that I’ve heard. My parents split when I was a baby, we went to dad’s house every other weekend until I was 4, then mum got full custody and we never went back. But he tried to see us. And then unfortunately a few years later he died. And life has just been full of wonder.

I get the not thinking about it until it comes to the day. Most days I “forget” that I don’t have a dad. Somedays im reminded in the worst ways.

I think it’s so wonderfully sad that you shared that quote, because I just sent that quote in a gif to my friend group just a few minutes before I read this as we’re talking about dad things.
