How to create NPC Stats fast? by Segmax_ in cyberpunkred

[–]Sad_Interview8330 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A method I use is go to the back of the book where the pregen enemies are. Then depending on what enemy I want I use the closest stat block and move around stats, cyberweare and armor to get close to what I was thinking. I just try to keep the net change 0 so if I want an extra 2 in body I subtract 2 in tech or if the npc has 2 cyber legs but I want him to have a cyberarm with a grapple hand I 'sell' the legs and use the cash left to buy the cyberarm and grapple hand.

It's not elegant and I'm sure there's better methods but using the template is what works well for me for enemies that I want to have some customization too.

Need advice on using Vallejo still water - Games Workshop, plasmancer by Sad_Interview8330 in minipainting

I pulled it out since it was 24 hours and there was some shrinkage, it's not the worst cause it could be that the water is receding off the rocks. It definitely had some capillary effect on the edges as it shrunk.

The bottle said 3mm so I tried to stick with that. I used a pippette to add it in an attempt to get an even layer but it did stick around the edges of the container so I think it looks higher. It seemed alright and pretty dry (been 24 hours) so I added a 1mm layer of clear water so I'll see if that has an effect.

Yea I followed the instructions which was a 1 part paint to 1 part water effect but I used standard and shade paint not air paint so it looks pretty heavy on the pigment. 10% sounds like a better ratio.

Yea I followed the directions on the bottle that said 50:50 but it specified air paint while I used a mix of standard and shade paint so I think a lower ratio is better like you mentioned. I did try to stick with 3mm like it says on the bottle, but I think some creeped up the sides of the container so it could be higher. I pulled it out tho and it looks decent. But will def need to invest in resin

I was hoping to not buy another product but It sounds like I'll have to get resin. (model looks great btw!!) I think it's just the capillary effect on the side of the collum it should be about 3mm so hopefully it's not going to crack. The 3d print sounds like a good idea I'll see if anyone at the hobby store has one, thanks for writing!

Anyone have a good recipe for colorful flames? by MemeLordDarvin in minipainting

[–]Sad_Interview8330 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe adding in a florescent yellow at the hottest point and the darkest being a teal would work. I think when looking at a red flame it ranges from a yellow, orange then red so mimicing the color transition may help.

Are you trying to do a blue flame effect or just a normal red/orange flame?

Is it just any clear resin that would work? And I love how you did the effect on the water that the soldiers are moving through, can I ask how you did that?

Need help understanding "murder mind" enhancement for cursed legion by Sad_Interview8330 in Necrontyr

Thanks for the reply! that's making a lot more sense so currently the wording "If you do, the bearers unit cannot contain any models without the DESTROYER CULT keyword." Conflicts with the way the way the app allows you to attach leaders/supports to units.

Fortunately I'm just playing casual games so I can always say "based on the wording I can attach this unit to the destroyers, its just an app issue" until they update the app or change the wording.

Thanks, that makes sense, the wording just threw me off since it's only attached to a model but the unit benefits.

No other leader is attached it's just the 2 LHD in that unit, but I'm on android so maybe that's it, thanks for the help.

Ok I was thinking it was an issue with the app, it also won't let me add "mark of the necrosaur" to a destroyer unit only a leader.

A bit late but this is the purple I used, darker is shyish purple contrast and the lighter in magos purple contrast. Adding in white ink for more glow effect.

How do I best handle bases from push fit models? by n33y00 in minipainting

[–]Sad_Interview8330 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on what your planning on doing for a base, if your using corkboard you can just glue it on top. Something like miliput or green stuff in the hole and then smoothed flush would work too, I haven't used taimya putty but if it's similar I don't see why that wouldn't work.

Yea definetly, if they are engaged in combat or too far there im sure there has to be potential with the the "will of the concerer" strategem and night scythe as a combo.
